It’s Greek To Me
“I've also ordered from and dined at the Englewood location and the Cliffside Park location – I really prefer the Fort Lee location food and decor.”
“This review needs a disclaimer: I never dined in the restaurant, only ordered delivery 4 times – given the experience of other yelpers this was a good idea.”
“This is a BYOB so make sure to stop by and bring some wine with you!”

We had a great meal on the way back from a weekend basketball tournament. Decided to get out of the traffic and found this place while walking to another restaurant. Looked like a great place and it was. Our waiter was prompt, efficient and courteous. We were seated and served very quickly and our food came out in a matter of minutes. We had grape leaves, which were really very good. The Gyros were also nicely seasoned and very large for the price.
We will definitely stop again.
It's more like 3 and half stars. I found this spot when one friends was visiting from out or town and was dyingggg to have greek food lol, it worked out well as far as finding. The food here is usually good, but it never seems to be consistent. The mixed grill platter is usually good. The food is always fresh to order and it does take a while. I am not a big fan of Greek cusines but I have had some great greek food at other places. The food here can come off as blan if you have a palate that is use to zesty spices like me, you can't have this place more than once a month.
The service is great, staff is friendly and welcoming. The portions are sized pretty well but I think for the quality it's overpriced a tad bit. The restaurant is located off a small street with street parking and a parking lot which is always welcomed. This place is always nice and clean, its Byob, has outside seating, also nice decorations on the outside.
It didn't wow me but its never a bad experience.
I would come here again but not enthusiastic about it.
Was looking for a good place to get some take out, and YELP steered me right into this place. I called ahead, and placed my to-go order fairy quickly. I was between the Tuna and Salmon, and the person behind the phone recommended the Salmon, based on personal preference. He said it would be ready in 10 minutes, which was good, because I was like 5 mins away. 🙂
I pulled in, no issues parking. It was probably close to 8pm. The restaurant was a nice size, and plenty of people were sitting and eating. I went to the back, where I saw cashier station. Spoke to a girl, who rang up my order, and went to get my food. There was 2 guys there who were talking and I joined in. One of which took my order and made the recommendation. I told him how YELP led me to the place, and we talked for a bit YELP for a bit. Good guys. I told them to expect a review 🙂
So the food. I wasn't sure what to expect, since Im not a Greek food connoisseur, but overall I was very satisfied. I was looking for something healthy, so I ordered the Salmon over Sauteed Spinach and Feta. Salmon was cooked right, with good flavor and the Spinach was a great match. It had a lot more sauce/juice than I was expecting, but it did have really good flavor.
If you are looking for good food, greek food, healthy food, this is a great spot. I would recommend this place and would visit again if I was in the area.
Four words: BYOB is the BOMB. Our small party made a visit this past Saturday night, armed with two bottles of wine and a raging appetite. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there was there still plenty of seating on a weekend evening and upon being seated, a kindly waiter brought us water, glasses, and even a bucket of ice for our white wine. The great service never let up for a moment and servers regularly came to check on us throughout the meal, making sure our water glasses were constantly filled or to make sure we were enjoying our food, which was delectable from start to finish. To start, we enjoyed the free basket of toasty pita, which was served with a peppery and vinegary white bean salad. We got a Greek salad as a complementary appetizer, which elicited a gasp from a few of us at its sheer size. Taking up nearly forty percent of our table space, it was a visual and vegetal behemoth, with a mixture of cucumbers, tomatoes, pre-dressed mixed greens, peppers, a few stuffed grape leaves, and a healthy sprinkle of feta cheese.
We ordered two seafood entrees to share – one salmon dinner, which was accompanied with sautéed spinach, and a seafood platter. We chose the latter after we saw it arrive on the table beside us. It is another example of their healthy portion sizes, as the medley of shrimp, octopus, and calamari over rice can (and did) feed two diners. Even after all of that, we ordered another side of Greek fries to share, which was certainly unique – fresh, hot fries with a generous sprinkle of oregano and a hard squeeze of lemon. The savory, acidic flavor was unusual but delicious and my only qualm with it was the fact that some of the fries on the bottom became soggy after sitting in the residual pool of lemon juice that collected on the bottom of the plate.
We finished our food long before we drank up our wine but our waiter graciously let us linger and chat until we'd reached the bottom of both bottles. While our meal was pretty good, I found the service to be warm and patient (which, I recognize, does not seem to be the norm here, having read some of the reviews before mine). There is also a small outdoor seating area which would be a lovely place to dine for those with pets or guests who would like to eat al fresco.
Ehhhh this place is okay. It's not bad, it's
Not great, it's okay.
The service is average, they aren't overly friendly, nor super attentive but they do their rounds.
I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken. It was served on a plate opposed to a salad bowl, I don't really like that. It's harder to mix dressing in, also I feel you don't receive a good portion of lettuce when it's served that way. I felt like the price didn't justify the quantity and quality of the food. It wasn't super pricey but I felt like I needed more lettuce and less cucumber and beefsteak tomato.
They brought limited pita for our hummus and other dips. Overall I can feel that they are pinching pennies. I get you have to be conservative but I don't want to feel that you are being cheap !!
Probably won't go back- there are better options !!!
This Fort Lee outpost of this chain restaurant is one of their better ones. Good service at lunch here, even with it being pretty crowded. They have a special lunch menu with many choices. Lots of seafood, salads and traditional Greek appetizers and desserts. Been here a couple of times and it has not disappointed for a quick lunch.
Went for Weekday Lunch Special
Food – 3/5. The Lamb Kokinisto is cooked to tenderness which makes for good texture but the sauce is very plain. There really is no particular flavor in the sauce that tingles your senses making you want more. The sauce disappointment is kind of amplified by the fact that it comes on a bed of plain orzo which was meant to soak up the sauce for flavor. I just wish the sauce had more zing or spice. The pita is the most disappointing however as it has that lingering thawed food taste. It taste exactly like they opened a Kontos Pita bag and put it into a warmer. I know its just a complimentary item but I think restaurants need to put some love into their complimentary food as well.
Service – 4/5. They are professional about their work and quick to pick up on when you need refills on water. The pita bread is given with the meal instead of before which I thought was a bit odd.
Price – 4/5. The lunch special items are around the $10-$14 dollar range which is pretty average for the area. The food they give is a good amount and the interior of the restaurant is very nice so its a good place for a social lunch.
Parking – Private Lot (Free)
Meh. Not impressed. It's in walking distance from my house so I tried
it out when I don't feel like eating Italian or Korean food in the neighborhood. I get the chicken souvlaki since I don't eat red meat, and that's just mediocre. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff/service is standard. I prefer this place for brunch/lunch than dinner. There's separate parking for this restaurant, so you don't have to go look for metered parking.
