Everyday I find myself thinking how lucky I am living in the Mecca of Pizza here in NYC. If I ever leave Brooklyn I will so miss you Pizza.
It was close to midnight and I was leaving my good friends house to come back home to my beautiful wife and sweet daughter. I felt the craving kicking into over drive. I wanted Pizza bad! Many of the stores around my neighborhood were closed so my trusty Yelp came to the rescue. I came across J & V pizza after doing a search for Grandma slices as those are my favorite.
J & V ended up being the best choice I could have made for myself. I purchased 2 Grandma slices and 1 Sicilian slice. The Grandma slice was inhaled in no time. The ingredients were a mesh of ecstasy in every bite. Crispy, tasty, heavenly! The Sicilian slice was no amateur. The cheese and oil made me enjoy every bite.
The place itself was very spacious with multiple TVs to watch. The staff were great and very knowledgable about the pizza.
I have found a new pizza spot for life. YUUUUM!!
I had this spot bookmarked for a while and finally ordered delivery from here yesterday. The pepperoni pie is huge and we also got a beef patty but it was all just ok – the dough is super chewy.
Great pizza shop on 18th ave in bensonhurst. Ideal location as it's nearby the N train subway station. You can quickly stop in for a quick bite. They even have a street window to order, get, and eat your slice.
Ample selection of pizzas but the ones that are spot on are the grandma slice, Margherite, or even a plain slice. Great eggplant slice as well or white pizza with ample dollups of riccotta. Tasty crispy and soft pizza slice with great ingredients for toppings. Also great pies for take out. The margarite pie is thinner crust than their regular pizza but just as great. Also their signature jo jo is awesome. A chicken parm inside their pizza dough. A amped up calzone in my opinion. Definitely must order and large enough to share. Quick and affordable. Friendly neighborhood service and a mainstay in the neighborhood where you're known by name. One of the best pizza shops in the area.
Ordered the veggie pizza pie and they freshly made it (had to wait) but it was so worth it! So fresh, crust was thick BUT crunchy and flaky. One of the best pizzas i've had. BF loves this place and raves about their bacon cheddar slice, i have yet to try.
How can I not have reviewed a place I have bought hundreds of slices from over the last ten years? for shame…
Anyway, They do it great. In this neighborhood it's the best slice joint around and a true Brooklyn Pizzeria. No italian pastas and all that Jazz. They do pizza's and they do it well.
Yeah the JoJo sandwich is mammoth and can be great. I love when they have the pineapple slices with ham ( stop looking at me, it's good)
This place is never empty, you can grab a slice and a soda and watch a little TV with your friend or whatever, or you can grab a few hot slices to bring home.
I'm not lin Love with this place ,I just love it.
The pizza here is always good and by that I mean each time I have come here there was never a bad day. Sometimes you go to pizzerias and they can have a bad day where the pizza doesn't taste so good.
They have a bunch of different slices from pepperoni to grandma to margarita. They have a few different specialty Slices here. I have only tried the regular slice and a square. I actually never tried anything else. They also have chicken rolls and spinach rolls and the usual pizzeria foods. I must try it when I come here but I usually end up getting the usually pizza.
Another plus is they are open late u like most pizzerias close at 10 or 11 the latest.
I can never get tired of this place! They have the best mixed slices in the neighborhood.The buffalo chicken or chicken alla vodka is my personal favorite!
