My coworkers and I are regulars here for Friday afternoon lunches. Jack's is a local neighborhood bar, and was renovated from the old Firewater Inn, so everything is now updated and fresh looking.
The bartender is super sweet, and always has my Diet Coke ready when we get there (I am not one to drink mid-workday… sorry Don Draper). I've tried the wings and the quesadilla, but the real stand out is the burger. They cook it just right, juicy, and the grill is hot enough to get a nice crispy crust on the outside. They even toast the buns.
And if the summer ever gets here, which remains dubious at the moment, I look forward to sitting on the back outdoor patio.
I stopped by w some friends recently it happen to be on St Patti's.
The place itself is not very big but it has a nice size bar w am outdoor area.
We chilled by the bar & enjoyed some Green Beer & Sangria pitchers both were good & of course perfect for the occasion.
With drinking there's always room to pick on some food , we tried some Fries which were good & Quesadillas also pretty good.
Prices were pretty cheap since they had specials for the night, nice atmosphere , good music & service was quick considering it was a crowded night.
We enjoyed ourselves , I wouldn't mind coming back.
I been meaning to try this bar since its in my neighborhood and after seeing it in the show Bar Rescue. The bar it's nice and has a nice outdoor patio.
I didn't get to eat just came for drinks and I just wished they had more than one bartender since it took forever to get a drink. It wasn't the bartenders fault she was working hard there were just way too many patrons for her.
I had a great time at this bar in the outdoor area.
The waitress was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was great on a weekend night. I saw them handle a group of around 20 with ease.
The fire house theme has been done pretty well.
The urinal video game was pretty cool. What a great way to ensure people don't miss. I am surprised that you don't see that more often.
I saw this bar a few months Ago as it's around the block from my brothers…I mentioned to him now nice it was and he let me know it was from Bar Rescue.
Full disclosure…. Love that damn show. I want Jon Taffner to come revamp the bar in my house. So Immediately I set out to try it. Tried it out on a Friday early evening. Expecting to find a gimmicky theme bar with people who think they are too cool for school now, I knew I was totally wrong by my first drink.
Theme bar, yes. Corny, not one bit. Bartender (I'm so sorry but I forgot her name) was awesome. Took the time to help me pick out a drink and i ended up trying out one from the show. DELICIOUS. Its the kind of drink you can only have one, but amazing.
We didn't eat, but food looked and smelled great. I can see into the kitchen and it looked clean and preparing fresh not frozen burgers. Outdoor area was so nice, clean and packed with a fundraiser.
Here is their one downfall. The bar is in the middle of nowhere. A good 3 blocks from the 7 and not near anything else. All in all great local place, that I will def be back. Mr. Taffner would be proud!
I'm surprised there haven't been that many reviews of Jack's since the remodel/menu revamp! Jack's has recently been a nice go-to whenever I've got guests over, and they've always had a good time.
I'm a big fan of the burnt brussels sprout chips. It's unique and goes with the whole firehouse theme. Haven't had the cojones to try the ghost pepper grilled cheese yet, let alone to take their famed challenge. Maybe some day when I have to get my mind off of any real problems with my life. Misery loves company right?
Also check out their signature cocktails. They have one called the Fireload that consists of BBQ bitters and cedar plank smoke.
