  1. Place is so cute and dainty! Had a girls night dinner and the whole restaurant to ourselves for the evening up until closing. It can't get any better than that. Food was ok. I have to admit I had high hopes for the Pork Ramen Soup. But sadly, I was disappointed. It was literally B- L-A-N-D.

Overall staff was great and entertaining.

    Cons: No hard liquor.

  2. Sliders and sushi? It's something that doesn't necessarily make sense but is actually a wonderful combination. Jack's does a great job of bringing these too things together.

Here's something that you should know when you walk in: don't expect nigriri grade sushi. Just come in a order a roll — it's one of the best Americanized sushi rolls that you can get in Manhattan.

My friend and I ordered the spicy salmon salad, ahi tuna salad, Jack's slider, the Curry Crunch slider, the Red Dragon, and the Orange Dragon. We were beyond full by the halfway point of the each of our respective rolls. Everything was good. I thoroughly enjoyed each item. The salad had the right amount of greens to fish to sauce. The sliders were well-cooked and tender. The rolls were balanced between rice, good seaweed, fish, and sauce. It was one of those meals where I felt like it was worth it.

The service is all right and the restaurant is small overall. It's definitely a casual spot that you go to with a friend or two. The portion to price ratio make this place pretty worth it. For $20, you can get a delicious slider and quite large roll. It's something that's worth trying, at least once. For the friends I know that love different combinations of food, this is a place that I recommend. If you're a fan of both sushi and burgers, I dare you to try Jack's.

  3. Don't order the catering!!

Ordered three catering dishes and all were terrible. All the food was sweating with condensation when we got it. The regular sliders and the pork belly sliders were dry and overcooked. The avocado and quinoa salad was mostly brown and wilted iceberg lettuce and the avocado was very hard and not even close to ripe. Some of the chicken skewers were undercooked. The fries and wings were all soggy.

We ended up throwing most of the food out because of how bad it tasted.

  4. I'm really confused about what to say about this place. As confused as their name is. Sliders and Sushi?? I don't know that I would have ever walked in here on my own. It was convenient at the time because it was around the corner from my friend's apartment.

The price point is ok and the portions are decent. Specialty rolls run about $13. We didn't try their sliders, but got some of the rolls. And the rock shrimp. The concept is kind of like "don't worry if they are scared of sushi, you can bring your friends who only like deep-fried-and-breaded stuff… oh, and they can get burgers too" sort of vibe. We came in a bit late and the staff definitely rushed us out of the door.

Overall I think the concept is an attempt to be very "fusion" but I don't think I'll necessarily be back for the specialty rolls. Maybe the cheaper regular rolls to go.

  5. I had two Kimchi sliders and Orange Dragon Roll.
The sliders were a little bit cold but had a great combination of flavors.

The Dragon roll was delicious and made really well. The service was accommodating to my 'Allergy' restrictions and kind.

  6. Tried Jacks this past weekend during the Memorial Weekend. I love the city during holidays because it is never crowded and parking is super easy.

Visiting this past weekend was the perfect opportunity to try this place out because it was not crowded. The space is small, yet super charming, cool, iniviting and just chill. We were a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). The service was amazing and the food even MORE AMAZING!!!

The server was training therefore the owner himself, Anthony, assisted us with our order. He was patient, respectful, down to earth and just too damn cool! He recommended dishes and drinks and boy was everything just delightful!

We had wings- perfectly cooked, not breaded, deep fried, good size and great seasoning

Dumplings-not your usual dumplings-boy were they tasty!

    Lobster curry roll-AMAZING and huge
    Spicy Salmon roll-YUM
SLIDERS-chicken teriyaki And the famous Jacks Sliders were to die for! Perfectly cooked burgers with seasoned caramelized onions and bacon? Just can't go wrong!

We had ramen noodles, miso soup and just about the BEST DARN FRIES I HAVE EVER HAD! I cannot properly describe just how amazing the fries were! Not too greasy, thin, crispy, seasoned oh so brilliantly and just mouth watering. The entire table scarfed them down and the portion was generous. We also had sweet potato fries that were just as thin and crispy and sweet as can be.

Saki- to DIE for! Smooth and chilled-had kind of a 'sophisticated' taste (I am not a big SAKI person but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I enjoy a nice refreshing beer with, well, anything, really, LOL but I have to admit that Jack's served me the most delicious and unique beer my mouth has ever had the pleasure of tasting-Crabbies GINGER BEER- see the pic. It really was to die for, perfect summer ALE, with a slice of lemon? It just really hit the spot and I honestly cannot wait to have another!

Well, there you go-probably the longest review Ive written on YELP thus far and well worth it and well deserved!

We will be back in a few weeks-as they also have an adorable and private garden area in the back that we have decided to use to host a private affair.

Thank you to Anthony and staff for such great service, awesome food and great company! See you soon!

  7. I really wanted to love this place. I loved the concept of American meets Japanese. The interior is dimly lit with fairy lights lining the windows. The lights make for an intimate, romantic atmosphere.

Gyoza were great. They were rolled like a crepe instead of pinched together like regular gyoza. Very crispy.

The tofu slider was pretty bland. I would've preferred a thinner tofu "patty," so that the tofu didn't overwhelm the entire thing.

  8. This place is okay. I ordered it from the Uber Eats selection of restaurants and was somewhat disappointed. It arrived over an hour later. It was barely warm. I got the salmon slider combo order. The old bay fries just tasted like plain fries. There was not much spice on them at all. The salmon was MAYBE 3 ounces. With a little spicy mayo on it. It was nothing special. Seems like for a simple meal they could have done a little bit more to make it exciting. Prices are pretty high for what you're getting. I don't know if I would order it again.
