  1. Wow, the food brought me back 25 years. I have seen this place forever and never knew it was a diner, I always thought it was a old fart hang out. When I was younger, there was a diner not far away called Mark Twain Diner and the food here makes me think of that place. This place has been around for 20 years and I am so happy that I came in. I always think breakfast at a diner is the way to go and this place is no different. And for the record, it's kinda a old fart hangout, I was the youngest person by at least 40 years and I ain't young! lol

    The food:

Jackson House Breakfast Combo- I ordered two sunny side up eggs, sausage, home fries and waffles. This is kinda the everything on a plate kinda of a dish and I was more than pleased with what I got. There is something very apparent about old school diners that cannot be replicated in new diners. The eggs were cooked properly and the yolk was perfectly runny. The sausage is what brought back the most memory. The sausage they use is very old school, these are the thicker links that have a great crunch on the outside and nice juicy texture on the inside. These are my fav type of breakfast sausage. The home fries were good, but I just wish there was some type of char on the potato for a contrast in texture. The waffle was just OK for me, it was limp and I like my waffles crunchy and this was not. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

  2. Hmmm…it's clean inside and also has a welcoming waitstaff.  I don't need much at a diner, but I did find it pleasant in here.  I have a burger craving and wound up here right after a walk with my hub.  We both ordered burger deluxes.  Mine was a cheeseburger deluxe, his was a buffalo burger deluxe.  I have to say our meals came pretty quickly and also the items were nicely presented on the plate.  We also got rice puddings and decaf coffee to round out the evening with some dessert.  On the menu, there are many options, like spaghetti, lasagna, sandwiches, spinach pie, and some Greek specialities.  Awesome!  The only thing I was a bit sad about was that this place closes kind of early around 8:30 pm on a Sunday and of course i work really late on the weekends.  Yep, I would definitely come back.

  3. I used to cut high school here in the 90s and I still come here to eat the food today… Same waitress's are there since I was a teenager so that makes me feel at home.. especially since they still remember me. The food is great and at a great price also..

  4. For breakfast, I feel like Jackson Heights is not ideal to where you want to be

    HOWEVER

if you find yourself here for breakfast or brunch then this place is perfect!

that is all… nothing else needs to be said

  5. Breakfast is great. My over medium eggs are always done perfectly and the burgers really are excellent!

  6. Jackson House is a true NYC diner that does everything right: cozy atmosphere with comfortable booths, friendly and attentive service and really good food. Their bacon is great, as is their garlic bread. It feels like a neighborhood anchor and we are looking forward to coming back for breakfasts.

  7. I've passed by this diner thousands of times but never went in. I was craving some comfort food, with such good ratings…I had to check it out. After an appt. in the area, we stopped in for lunch.

We ordered the french toast with sausages, bacon burger deluxe and the eggplant parmigiana. Yeah we ordered a lot for just the two of us. =D The food came fairly quick.

L loved his french toast, I had a bite – brought back memories… I haven't had french toast in decades.  The sausages were typical breakfast sausages – I didn't try them. I had a few bites of the burger, pretty good, simple burger. The fries were crispy and really tasty. My eggplant was tender with a nice crispy breading, huge amount of cheese. The spaghetti that comes along with it was your basic tomato sauce… Not horrible, but doesn't come close to my own. Portions are quite generous, I took most of my food home.

Our waitress was very nice, I love it when everyone is efficient at their job. They took away our empty plates asap. Our coffee cups were filled just as fast. Great service. Will definitely come back to check out the rest of the menu when I need to be in the area.

  8. I absolutely love this place for breakfast! Yeah, I can make better at home.. but that's not the point.

The service is always pleasant and speedy. The food is great! I would say that this is Jackson Heights' best hidden places but the place is always super crowded – especially on weekend mornings for the JH hang-over breakfast.

Jackson House is definitely one of those mom-and-pop places that make Jackson Heights – Jackson Heights. So, unless you're in the mood for ice cream, walk passed Jahn's and come on here. Make sure you eat quick though because I'm probably waiting to get in behind you.
