  1. Grab a dill and get your fill! Yup, the pickles are great and that's not the only thing on my plate. From dinner to brunch this place packs a punch. Ok, done with the rhymes. Bottom line, Jacob's Pickles always delivers. The cocktails are super boozy, the portions are heaping, the food is always packed with flavor. The only downside is that to snag a table you better get their SUPER early or only come as a two-top because you risk waiting 45+ mins for a helping of chicken and pancakes or biscuits and gravy. By the way, both totally worth any wait. So good. I highly recommend this spot for your comfort food cravings. Enjoy.

  2. this is what all brunch places in new york should strive for. large portions that are actually proportional to the price and amazing flavor.

arrive early! the place opens at 9 and i got there around 9:30 where the wait was around 15-20 minutes. but i'm sure if i showed up another 15 minutes later the wait will have probably been around 45 minutes.

the restaurant has kind of a rustic feel. there is no air-condition so be prepared for that. they have a few long tables along the back where a few parties will sit together which is kind of nice.

not much of a pickle fan myself but the hot sour was the right amount of spice to prepare your taste buds for the rest of the meal.

the chicken and pancakes was amazing. the pancakes are larger than a person's face and are light and fluffy. the fried chicken was well seasoned, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. i personally should have asked for no bacon crumbs. Paired wonderfully together. i didn't add any additional maple syrup since a little was already drizzled onto the dish.

the mushroom mac and cheese was some of the best I've had in the city. there were various types of mushroom in the dish. they also did not skimp on good quality cheese. the kind that is smooth and delicious when eaten and have the cheese strings as you scoop some out.

the veggie omelet was well seasoned and had cheese in the center! it is definitely a thicker omelet since it does have filling. if you're not into foods that are too salty this will be a good option. the home fries were also good. potatoes were crispy and more individual and not a mush like some other places.

  3. One of my favorite restaurants in the city. The interior is so modern-meets-rustic in a way that does not make you want to barf or roll your eyes, which is hard to do nowadays. The menu is so large, it will take multiple visits to try everything you want to try (especially because portions are B-I-G!!! our server warned us, and thank goodness he did). Seriously every dish sounds so good, you will have a hard time deciding.

The Salmon Salad is just splendor on a plate. The orange vinaigrette and orange slices were a divine culinary marriage with our PERFECTLY medium seared salmon. Definitely came back and ordered this dish for a second time even though our goal was to try new things. Could not resist.

Buffalo mac and cheese is a must if you like mac and cheese. The level of spice, the textures, the cheese, do I need to say more?

The multiple varieties of chicken/waffles/biscuits will do you good no matter what you choose, don't stress.

Jacob's Pickles just gets everything right on every level. Cocktails were so beautifully delicious, I heard a choir of angles with my first sip and it almost made me cry.

Come here for a deliberately good time and consistently good food.

  4. This biscuit?! THIS BISCUIT!!!!!

Listen, I have never enjoyed a breakfast so much. The biscuit is fluffy, buttery, just dense enough. We heard great reviews about this place but the food and drinks (watermelon, strawberry gin, lemonade cocktail) were absolutely amazing. Our bartender, Cory, was extremely attentive and gave excellent suggestions. I cannot wait to recommend this place and return on my next new visit.

  5. I really enjoyed my meal and experience here…I had the following:

-Fried Chicken Biscuit Sandwich with Mushroom Gravy
    -Pickled sampler

Everything was very good and I left full and quite satisfied.  The food is very heavy so just arrive with that expectation.  I'd definitely come back here for the amazing comfort food!

  6. Yummmmm! Went for brunch today with 3 girlfriends, put our names in at 12:30 (on the dot!) and were seated at 1:45pm. There is always a wait, so plan on one! We spent our wait getting mimosas at e's bar right next door and would definitely recommend others do the same!

We started with fried pickles and deviled eggs. The deviled eggs come 5 to an order and are HUGE. Fried pickles were good but I only had a bite because I was too full from the deviled eggs.

For my main dish, I had the honey chicken biscuit and it was sooooo good. This is comfort food at its finest. I don't like cheese, so the accompanying cheese grits were out, but they graciously substituted a side of my choice (and I went with the pickle slaw, obviously). This is a MOUNTAIN of food so while I was so so so full, I could basically only eat 1/3 and took the rest home and ate it for dinner.

Bloody Mary was also great and comes with half a hard boiled egg and some bacon. I love coming to brunch here, but for the waist line it can't be a common occurrence. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to indulge!

  7. so happy i finally got to eat here, its been on my list for a long time! i came with a friend for dinner on wed. night. we ended up waiting about 30 mins, but just went to the bar next door and grabbed some drinks while patiently waiting for the host stand to text us.

everything on the dinner menu sounded so good, i was seriously having difficulty ordering. my friend i came with said we had to start with a mac n cheese, so we went with the mushroom one. it was so good, but supposedly doesnt hold a candle to the buffalo mac n cheese. i was full after this appetizer, but plowed ahead.

for my entree i got a fried chicken biscuit sandwich with sausage gravy and cheese grits. hot damn these are the BEST GRITS ive had in manhattan! they legit transported my back to my days of atlanta brunching. my friend got the fried chicken caesar, it was yummy.

cocktails here are also excellently crafted. i got the special of the day it had watermelon, mint, blueberries lemon vodka it was so refreshingly awesome.

do come in here very hungry and be ready to literally roll yourself out and straight to the couch. this place is a guaranteed delicious food coma.

ps. they play awesome rap, mixing both new and old… fun times cant wait to come back.

  8. Recommended by a friend so we all met there and had a blast.   Busy place so you'll have to wait to be seated but I'd recommend trying it.  It clearly has the stars and plenty of reviews to support its good so stop reading this review and go now.
