This still seems more like a glorified Chinese takeout joint than anything. Sure there are some distinctly Peruvian things on the menu, like lomo saltado, but they didn't even have aji sauce! I think it was recently expanded, but it still reminds me of a school cafeteria.
Tried the tallarin saltado, arroz chaufa, Jade Garden house special wonton soup, and lomo saltado. They were pretty average. Tallarin saltado was essentially house special lo mein at any Chinese takeout joint, arroz chaufa was yeung chow fried rice, and the house special wonton soup was wonton soup with some egg noodles, pork, and duck.
Lomo saltado was the only thing we ordered that you couldn't find at an average Chinese takeout place. It's also pretty expensive for what you're getting.
Peruvian Chinese food. Like most places in Paterson, it's cash only. It was authentic. We came here with a group of four. The wontons were made from a mix of pork and shrimp. We also had the garlic duck, sweet and sour combo plate over fried wontons. EVERYTHING was too salty and the msg after taste was hard to over come. Will not repeat.
