The place is very small and expensive for its dishes. I expected a lot more food with my $13 dish. The quality tastes the same as any other Thai take-out place (and yes they have take out as well) which I could get bigger portions for much less $$. Although I would say that their Tom-Yum soup was pretty good. There was one server at the time and service is kind of slow. Overall, there are other Thai restaurant places in the Slope that is much better.
The interior of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the waitstaff is on top of their game. As far as the food goes, it's not the best Thai I've ever had, but it's not the worst.
We ordered the chicken pad Thai, chicken pad si-ew, and fried ice cream. The pad Thai did not have much tamarind flavor, which is my favorite part of pad Thai. It's such an unusual and acquired taste that my taste buds crave while enjoying Thai food. I'm disappointed I did not get that here. Nonetheless, this dish was average. The pad si-ew was better. The seasoning was spot on and the Chinese broccoli was still crunchy. The egg gave the dish a balance of flavor. The chicken on both dishes was nicely cooked and tasty. We were expecting the fried ice cream to blow us away. However, it was just mediocre. The ice cream was ice cream and the outer layer was a greasy mess (it contained way more oil than regular fried foods).
All in all, the presentation is very neat and finesse.
Great lunch menu. This place had gotten better; I stopped coming here but I tried it again and the quality of the food is much better.
This was pretty good takeout on GrubHub! Not as good as my local favorite Song, but Song was slammed during a rainstorm. i loved the crab rangoons (too small though but glad they had them as an appetizer) option, shrimp drunken noodle, and thai iced tea. Reasonably priced and quick delivery!
My friends and I decided to stop in here on a Wednesday evening to eat quickly before heading to the bar. It was about 8 of us and the restaurant was completely empty, no other patrons. So everyone knows and expects Thai food to be prepared quickly. We sit down and order. Some order apps, some just entrees.
We sit and wait and wait and wait. Now 45 minutes has passed! Which is ridiculous. At the same time deliveries are constantly leaving the restaurant. People even come in order, wait for their food, and walk with their order. Now I'm getting pissed and getting a headache. Someone in my party asks the waitress where our food is. She says, oh it's coming. Then appetizers start coming out one at a time. My appetizer never makes it out the kitchen.
Then entrees start coming out one plate at a time. Then everyone but one person has their food. Ask waitress about her food and she says it's coming. Then she comes back 5 minutes later and asked what she ordered. So clearly they forgot her order. Some people are eating and others are done. The food was good at least but had to judge because I was so damn hungry.
The last person that received their food wanted to take the rest of her food since she barely ate it. The waitress picks up her plate and puts someone else's empty plate right on top of it without even asking if she was done. So much for trying to take that home.
Umm, needless to say I won't be coming back here again.
Writing this as I eat my take out
Tofu satay has good flavor, well marinated with peanut sauce.
Papaya salad had a strange bitter after taste but seemed fresh. Lacked green beans and tomatoes though.
Pad Thai was colorless and bland, how does a Thai place mess up pad Thai I will never understand.
Pineapple chicken fried rice had good flavor but lacked pineapple (4-5 chunks), chicken (3-4 pieces) so it was basically fried rice?
Thai ice tea was good bc of the half and half
I'm gonna stick to my other usual places.
