  1. This is the best diner in the Elmhurst area. I definitely prefer Jax Inn over Georgia's Diner or that Nevada diner on Queens Blvd. The best part of this diner is that it's 24 hours and there's ample parking. The diner is big and the tables are arranged nicely so you don't feel cramp and crowded. The diner serves large portions and the food is pretty decent for diner food.

I come here more often for breakfast and lunch. It's much better than IHOP's food (across the street). The burgers are really big and even the nachos are a really large portion. The menu is extensive and they even serve breakfast at night. I even like how they have the desserts in display cases, which is found in the middle of the diner. They look really good, although I've never tried any.

The food is affordable, you're definitely getting a lot of food for what you're paying. But this diner is more about getting full rather than eating a really good meal. The diner does get really crowded on holidays and weekend mornings, so be prepared to wait.

  2. It's your typical American diner with better food than most. There were 6 of us, and they seated us in no time. They gave us a good amount of time to decide from the many choices on the menu. I ordered a tuna melt with fries. The portions are huge! The tuna melt sandwiches looked like eggs benedict; two scoops of tuna salad on two English muffins and melted cheese on top. I only ate one and half of my fries at the diner because there was just a lot of food, which I am not complaining! Had the leftovers later and they were just as delicious. I recommend this place if you're ever in Jackson Heights.

  3. 3.5 stars.  I really like this diner.  The prices are continually very low, service is good and the food is great.  There is a parking lot and the vibe takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Northern Blvd.  I just wish they had curly and waffle fries! Diner standard!

  4. In the process of moving to Jackson Heights we stumbled across Jax Diner after taking some measurements for a new bed set. The hostess was welcoming and pleasant and sat us with menus immediately. I love old school look and feel diners and this one was certainly one of them with leather seat booths. We sat and were immediately served ice cold water, much appreciated in the NYC heat wave! I asked for a lemonade which was delicious but very sweet. The waitress took our food orders shortly after when we had finally made a decision after carefully reviewing the numerous choices. I ordered a triple decker grilled chicken and bacon sandwich that comes with fries, pickle and coleslaw for about $13 which I think is a pretty good deal considering the large food portion. The sandwich was delicious since the chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned and the bacon was as crispy as I like it! I had to save some for later which the hungry baby in my belly was happy to have leftovers later. The onion rings were also crispy with Panko breading just like I like it. Definitely a cool place to have around the new hood:)

  5. We came here for a late breakfast before heading back home. The diner was packed – however, it only took us may be around 10 minutes or so before being seated. The menu consisted of your typical diner dish but everyone in our group opted to go with the Breakfast Menu.

I ordered the French toast made with Challah Bread with a side of Canadian Bacon. My better half got the California Omelette which comes with a side of toast and potatoes. The portions are decent and so is the price. However, the potatoes were not up to the par – this is where I had to take 1 star out. As a big potato eater – the Home fries was pretty bland and not "fried" enough at least for me. Besides, everything else was good. The service was good and the waiter was kind enough to take our pictures as well despite being really busy.

  6. I enjoy the meals here.  I have ordered bagel with lox and cream cheese and a BLT sandwich here.  Each time I visit (usually on a weekend), the place is full of families, couples, and friend gatherings.  I have to wait and have the lady take my name to be placed on a list.  It is fine if you are not in a rush.  The waiters and hostess are kind and helpful.  I frequent this place and recommend it highly.

  7. Jax's Inn . . . who knew that a diner can make diner classics and still make it absolutely delicious. This would be my 3rd time here and the food is delish. To be honest, the first time I came as a default because the wait for Ihop which is across the street was super long. The 2nd time my friend raved about this diner and we came here late night. It was time for some breakfast and we both ordered omelettes. My friend ordered the western omelette and I ordered the italian omelette. The portions were huge. The omelette was delish. It had italian sausage, roasted red peppers and onions. It was delicious. The platters come with home fries and toast. I could not even finish a 1/4 of the food but my friend finished it all. I took the rest home. Now this morning early morn, we switched it up. I guess it was all up to me on what we would order. So browsing through the full menu which is extensive I ended up chosing a salad. Not for nothing it is hard to get a delicious salad from a diner, so I was a lil weary. But once again my friend was like I usually order the Southwest chicken salad. It was a choice between the chicken caesar which I love or the chicken cobb. The chicken cobb obviously won. Omg it was delicious. So fresh and the grilled chicken was so flavorful and delish. Once I took the first bite, I was saying this is so good. My friend was like I told you. Ha. Ok so for the 3rd time, I was pleasantly suprised on how delicious the food was. I'll probably try something different next time since everything they put out is delish. You might ask why 4 stars if the food is so amazing. Well the place is nice and clean however the 2nd time we weren't seated. We sat ourselves and we had to wait a while for a waiter to take our order. This morning we were seated however, they took a few to take our order. Other than that they pretty good. Once we interacted with the wait staff, they were friendly. I'll definitely return and try something new.

  8. This is a typical diner located in Jackson Heights.  Pretty convenient location for me, since it's got parking lot in the back and it's few blocks away from home.  Hubby and I usually come here if we are too lazy to drive to Georgia diner or to Astoria. As far as the food goes, it's typical diner food, nothing too amazing or wow over.  Portions are generally decent, I always have to get a doggy bag. Selections are not that great though, just few pages on the menu, unlike other diners we've visited. The services here are pretty good, you do get greeted and seated right away.  Water are always filled on time.  Hubby definitely like to come here more than to the IHOP across the street.
