This place is a must-go. A cute spot in St. Marks with a lot of space and amazing sushi. My friend and I got a fantastic Groupon deal that got us a sushi boat (killed it) and two pitchers of beer for super cheap, so we were able to try all different kinds of rolls, sushi and sashimi. I highly recommend the white tuna sashimi – to die for. I've never been hardcore about sushi but this place turned me into a fan. I'll definitely be coming back. We also found out that they regularly do a live Japanese game show in their downstairs area – sounded like people were having a blast down there.
A co-worker recommend that I try this spot for a happy hour.
The restaurant was in a pretty cool area, and it was a diverse crowd. I like sushi, but by no means am I an expert in it or Japanese food for the matter. So i trusted the bartender fully, and had her recommend what I should eat
So I tried the beef skewers and the fried tempura first. Man, they were delicious. Very tasty, and the beef skewers were perfectly cooked.
Next up, the sushi. I tried the mango sushi, which was a combination of sweet and salty. I'm not a sweet and salty kind of guy, but I decided to take a chance.
It wasn't bad, it just wasn't my thing. Next time, I'll stick to what like.
My experience was a great one, and I'll definitely be back to try something different.
Yeah I just have to say it's not your fault, but there are so many other better options on st marks.
This place is great for late night dinner, drunchies, and snacks, you name it. If you need a reliable place to go after drinking at HH with friends on weekdays or even someplace to go on a weekend to have fun, Jebon is a pretty good place to hit up! For this review, I'm only going speak for items that I got the most recent time I went.
Meat Lover Skewer Set (2 each of Chicken, beef, and pork) – The chicken skewers were pretty damn on point. Well cooked and nicely marinated. The beef and pork on the other hand were not impressive and I've definitely had better elsewhere.
Satay Beef with Egg Noodles – Again, the beef was unimpressive and the noodles were okay. The soup though, was slightly redeeming for this dish and it was nice to sip on some soup on a cold day.
Ocean Blue Fish Bowl – Drink was pretty strong, we shared the fish bowl between three people and we almost had trouble finishing it – but we were 3 girls who already drank quite some at another location before we came here so that may be the reason. Don't eat the shark gummies that they put in there for looks, ahha, they were pretty gross and soggy.
Rice Noodle Rolls with peanut sauce – now THIS. is enough to be the sole reason why I would return here sooner than later. These rice noodle roles were so delicious, my friends and I had to order two plates. I have a feeling we would have ordered more if we didn't have to get going. The peanut sauce is incredible! It hit the spot just right and the rice noodle was so spectacular. GET THIS DISH!!!
I would return here next time to try the shot roulette, I heard that was pretty fun! But otherwise, this is a solid place for St. Marks.
Solid place for lunch or dinner with a lively menu and drinks selection. My favorite dishes were any sushi or ramen. Their drink menu looked very appealing and creative.
We did not wait that long for dinner, one spontaneous night in October (we did not have a reservation). As we walked past the main entrance and bar, being escorted down the hallway to our table, I was surprised how large the seating capacity was. They appear to also have another seating level downstairs and the entire restaurant was romantically decorated with dim lighting and Christmas lights along the handrails overlooking the lower level.
We downed our food and drinks fast. The servers kept up to our speed and we did not even wait that long to be served both dishes and drinks. They refilled our water in a timely mannered and gave our check. They are very fast and proficient, plus the food is good for the price level.
I was with my partner around this neihborhood and in the mood for some noodles. So we came to this place to try thing out, I ordered the Seafood noodle, one of my favouite noodle back home. Well, the noodle from this place turned out not so great as I expected. the noodle was a bit too light, the soup just tasted a bit dull.My parter was not impress with the noodle he ordered. That was a bit let down.
We also ordered some cocktail. which they tasted great. We also tried some side dishes as well. Well,it was alright. The restuant itself looked great, very nice atmosphere. so we were kinda got a vide the thing would turn out like wow, but that wasn't the case. The price of the place is
a bit high. The service was alright. if you looking for a good noodle place, just looking around first, there are many other restuarant here also offer noodle in their menu.
I'm giving this place 5 stars because when every other place is packed and you're drunk and need food asap, this place will always have room for you.
I've tried the Russian roulette shots regrettable but they always add a fun time to your table! The old bay garlic fries are the bombbbbbb
Please don't ever get the fried calamari unless you like sweet and sour calamari. I've never had fried calamari before where it was sweet and sour. It just wasn't very good. It was very hard. Not crunchy, just really hard.
Their sake slushy was very refreshing. Can hardly taste the sake. Their mint mojito is much stronger.
It's A Thursday night and you're looking for time to kill, with a group of people. Come here!
They have a restaurant at the main level and downstairs in a soundproof basement is a Japanese game show called batsu. You can look for cheaper tickets online or pay $25 at the door. The game show is pretty much 4 different contestants (workers) who battle with each other for the most points to seal the "fate".
You have an option of buying a batsu band where you wear on your forehead and everytime you scream batsu (punishment in Japan) you get a free shot.
I came here twice for the Japanese game show, but haven't had their food.
