  1. Surprised there aren't any reviews on this place yet. This WAS the old Fujiyama Mama in Summit, changed names recently, and he product is pretty good.

My wife and I are always looking for a new sushi spot, and we overlooked what was right in front of us.

Their rolls are consistently delicious – spicy tuna, calamari, and futo maki are my top choices. Their green salad comes with a delicious ginger dressing – always a huge plus for me, personally. Their fish are fresh – nice, dark red tuna color with no fishy smell at all.

Affordable and quick delivery times, Jenny's is a solid, local place for really good sushi.

  2. 3.5

Pleasantly surprised. We walked in on a whim around 6pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was empty. Sort of wary, until I saw people go upstairs for hibachi. And when we left around 7, there are two other parties seated in the first floor.

My friend and I started off with the tempura appetizer which was great. The tempura batter was perfect–light and crispy. I hate it when the batter is too thick and the texture is doughy. It only had 2 pieces of shrimp tempura and 5-6 pieces of veggie tempura. There was only one piece of broccoli, which is a shame because broccoli tempura is my favorite.  So quality was there, but definitely on the smaller side. (Zen in Livi gives at least 4 pieces of larger shrimp tempura, though price might be a bit higher…)

I got the Nemo Roll, thinking I would order a second regular roll if I was still hungry. But 8 pieces of the spicy fish roll topped with salmon and avocado filled me up! It was fresh and delicious. The actual execution of the roll wasn't that great–rice vs. fish ratio varied by piece but I didn't really mind. And I actually think there was a bit too much rice overall, which is why I was full after just one special roll.

I tried my friend's Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box and the teriyaki sauce was light and sweet. But the salmon was a tad overcooked. It came with shumai, California roll, and rice.

Service was pleasant. Sort of slow, but it was fine. Probably wouldn't be back just because there are so many other sushi places in the area. But if I lived in Summit I could see this place being a go-to take-out place.

  3. We've ordered take out twice from this place and have, but one complaint. That is that the take out and online menu is different than the one in the actual restaurant. The difference is there is more to choose from in the restaurant's actual menu.

Ordering was quick and easy, the wait time to make the rolls was like 20 min for 7 rolls. The food was all bagged up and ready by the time we got there.

The place is small and cute. I wouldn't come with an extra large crowd. The sushi and all of the ingredients taste fresh. The rice is good too. We ordered the sweetheart roll, rainbow roll, shrimp tempura, dragon roll, and the spice girl roll. All were perfect! The spice girl roll is a bit spicy, but tolerable even for me and I don't eat spicy food. On our 2nd visit we had all of the above and then some. We had the American Dream and the Philly roll. The Philly roll was a fail just because the cream cheese is overwhelming, but all the rest were super yummy.

  4. Jenny, Jenny, who can I turn to? With my local go-to sushi place closed for renovations, I was craving sushi for several months. On a recommendation from my bro, Francis C., I hit up Jenny's with the family. For appetizers that appeal to adults and possibly toddlers, the Edamame beans came steamed and salted to perfection so that they were easy to open and eat. My nearly 2-year-old daughter loved them so much, I couldn't open them fast enough to meet her quota. We also all enjoyed the fried Agadashi Tofu with its light, crispy/crunchy skin and soft interior and the Shrimp Shumai.

When I order, I go hard, but five rolls really stood out: the Spice Girl Roll filled with spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado and topped with roe had just the right amount of spice, while the super fine American Dream roll of eel, salmon skin, and cucumber inside and 3 colors of roe on the outside really got me believing. Then the crispy Godzilla Roll full of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white fish, fish roe, and a special sauce 😉 truly pleased with pure but elevated flavors. Rarrr! Then the Steve Roll filled with spicy tuna and mango and the super smokey Crazy Tuna Roll will lift your spirits sky high.

As BYOB, it's a great opportunity to bring some rum, vodka, brandy, and other spirits to mix with some of their drink offerings (Soda, Iced Tea, Lemonade, Arnold Palmer, Roy Roger, Shirley Temple, and fruit juices). Every time I've been here, service has always been so accommodating, family friendly, and all smiles. Jenny, don't change your number.
