This place has been getting a lot of hype recently,so I had to come and try it for myself, let me tell you, this is some of the best specialty pizza I have had in jersey. First off, the breakfast pizza is a must try. It has a perfectly over easy egg which is paired with beautifully cured Taylor ham, finished off with a mix of jack cheeses. This is truly an feat in pizza history. The yolk of the egg runs down the slice to make a perfect bite. The dough is also amazing, and is thin and crispy. The buffalo chicken slice was also great, perfect amount of bite to it. I will be back to try all of their pies, because they all sound amazing.
*Phone order for pick-up review*
I wasn't feeling okay last week, so me and my bf decided to order for pick-up. ETA was only 5 minutes more than estimated. We had 2 kinds of sandwiches as well as disco fries:
*Fat Springsteen: to my tastebud, the marinara sauce was rather thin and not as bold. I could only tasted the chicken and the soggy fries inside, but again,I wasn't feeling too well
*Fat Jovi: hit the spot, but I didn't recall the bacon part. Maybe hidden/crumbled somewhere in there.
*Disco fries: enough cheese and gravy, but next time I'll be sure to mix it well before the cheese gets cold/gravy stuck on the bottom
After coming here about 5 different occasions, I have to say Jersey Pizza Co. Earned my 5 stars. And thats hard for me to give out.
The management and staff are friendly and are willing to adjust certain orders. For example, i ordered the breakfast anytime pizza and only got ham on one half since i dont eat pork. Bringing in wine or beer? they will open it for you, give you ice, and glasses! Also, keep in mind im a slob and spilled my beer once and the owner cleaned it up and dealt with me very nicely.
On mondays and tuesdays you can get a large cheese pie for $8 which is a steal. Its thin but is very filling. Im usually not a fan of thin pizza but the perfect amount of gravy and home made-fresh mozz on top is what kills it. you can see the slabs of mozz on it, which is a plus since most places use shredded mozz that doesnt have flavor.
once again the mozz sticks and polenta fries are where its at. ive gotten a friend hooked on both—mind you hes never even heard of polenta fries.
Better than your everyday pizza place.
I've been to this pizza shop many times for their Mon/Tues pizza special. Its $8 for a large plain pie. The pies are pretty large.
I get this for takeout, so I can't really comment on the dining experience. I do know the seating area is pretty decently sized with about 10 tables or so.
The pizza is almost always cooked to perfection. With fresh mozzarella and a light tomato sauce, the pizza is pretty tasty. I can see why the reviews of this shop are really high.
This store is located near the corner of Moonachie Rd. and Hackensack Ave, in Wood Ridge. Its right up the street from the Moonachie Rd. exit off of rt. 17. There really isn't a parking lot for the stores lining this street, but you can find parking along Hackensack Ave. pretty easily.
I'm in love with this place. We sampled 4 slices and I can't decide which one was the best because they were all amazing. The bacon cheeseburger slice was awesome and the margherita slice was so flavorful. We also got the sausage and pepper slice and a mushroom and onion slice. I loved the variety and the crust. The service there was great too. The guy even came over and brought us some garlic knots on the house. I liked the atmosphere and the music they played was great. The prices were great too. I want to go here every day. The only negative I can say is that they didn't have fountain soda but everything else more than made up for that!
YES YES YES. If anyone is searching to get pie in the area and is not sure where to get it from, YES YES YES, here is where you should get it!
I cannot explain how thrilled I am to have found this GEM! My boyfriend and I live down the road in Hasbrouck Heights and on a whim tried this place out for delivery right around when it first opened up. Although my boyfriend isn't hard to please with Pizza, I tend to be more of a tough critic. Let me tell you, if you are into thin crust Jersey style pizza; made with quality cheese that doesn't grease up your slices THIS PLACE IS IT. They have an incredible black truffle pizza, my absolute FAVORITE special pizza I have ever tried anywhere. I wasn't sure what the black truffle pie was going to consist of and gambled on the order but MAN am I glad I did! The cheese is stretchy and yet it melts in your mouth fresh. Their toppings are fresh and evenly spread along with their bits of ham. Although I'll admit, since trying their black truffle pizza first I haven't had a chance to try their red sauce pizza because I cannot stop craving the TRUFFLE!
The other night my boyfriend and I decided to check out the place itself instead of the delivery option. The decor is done well, clean and neat with some rustic charm to it with the wood paneling. We brought a bottle of wine some champagne and sat on their cute outside tables. Black truffle was on point, their garlic bread was also outstanding as well as their polenta fries!
Bravo Jersey Pizza Co. You've found one of your biggest fans!
Been here so many times already and I should of given them 5 stars from the get-go! Can't wait till North Haledon location opens!! In about a week!! AHHH! Pizza all over my face!
My family ordered Jersey Pizza Co. for delivery recently. Jersey Pizza Co. is a nice addition to the Wood-Ridge area despite several other pizza places around. We all agreed that the arugula and prosciutto pizza was better than the margarita. If you enjoy a flatter crust pie, you should try Jersey Pizza.
There was a horrific story in the news about a month ago and the defense lawyer was trying to say his client was innocent because he doesn't like pizza. As soon as I heard this I turned over to my wife and said, "He's guilty. No one, ever, has said they don't like pizza." (the case is still pending but mark my words – he'll be found guilty in good time)
Which brings us to the fifth stop (we've been doing this over a month already?! You lose track after consuming so many carbs) on "The Pizza Project 2015" and while Jersey Pizza Co. have yet to rank on any Pete Genovese/nj.com 'Top 25' list – there's no reason why they shouldn't make it the next time out. It's exactly why no one in their right mind would ever say they don't like pizza.
It's smaller than I was expecting but with the chalkboard walls and cool drawings and cliquey band of workers (all with serious amounts of ink) you feel like you're at one of the cooler places in Downtown Jersey City or NYC but no, you're in Wood-Ridge. (Odd, I know.)
But listen: their pizza is bananas. A tangy tasty dough and a great seasoned sauce with saucers of melted cheese plopped down throughout… I would've committed gluttony and eaten the entire pie if I didn't have three family members with me.
BYO – always a bonus.
Polenta fries – very yummy with a nice zingy dipping sauce.
Fave spot we've hit so far.
