  1. Very cool renovation of Bahia Social Club (originally Tiki Bar for all you OGs out there) following Hurricane Sandy's destruction.  Menu is small plates/ tapas ranging from about $5 – $16.  The tacos are really good, as are the jerk chicken and the pulled pork arepas.  Wings were tasty, although the hot wasn't very hot.  Ham and manchego croquettes were also good.  DJ plays good music on Sunday Fundays, and they have a $40 5 hour open bar option every week for the young and reckless.   Drink menu makes a good attempt at mixology, with some fun mojitos, caiprihinas, and margaritas.  Couple of small negatives…The Jet Fuel $13 cocktail that comes in a neon water bottle is lackluster.  It claims to have 5 different types of liquor including 151, but I remained rather sober after 2 of them.  Kinda just tastes like a Malibu and pineapple juice.  The oysters at around $2 each are not the best quality, and my biggest pet peeve is when they aren't properly shucked.  Detach the oysters from the shells so the customer can slurp them up! People don't want to perform surgery on their appetizers! The condiments are served in paper Dixie cups that you would see in a school cafeteria.  Totally takes away from the otherwise nice presentation of the food.  Also, I don't know why, but I get little to no cell phone service inside this place…  Overall, Jetty is a cool fun spot, nice layout, with good food.  I will def. be back.

  2. I love the Jetty! Great location, great drinks, great live music, amazing wings! The wait staff is always smiling and on top of their game. The atmosphere is just what you want in a beach town bar with chill cabana surf shack feel. I am obsessed with their sangria. Every time I'm there you will no doubt find me with a pitcher of sangria and a basket of wings. Their tacos are bangin as well. Classic Long Beach spot.

  3. I came here on a Saturday night.  It wasn't crowded but the bar was filled with ladies. I think they were looking for a night out with the girls.

My boyfriend and I were seated in the back where the dining tables are located. The Jetty offers typical bar food. We shared the jetty wings,  empanada special of day, which was pork and beans,  and yucca fries. None of the food was oily….the cook did a good job draining the oil before serving it. The wings were tasty and sweet. The empanada was just ok. The yucca fries were crispy.

In the summer, there is ladies night, where females can get a free pitcher odds sangria. The other summer promotion is $2 Tapas.

  4. Came to Jetty with a group of friends for some dinner and drinks. We grabbed an outdoor table on the sidewalk to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Our waitress was very friendly and frequently checked in on us to make sure we were okay.

Prior to coming, we called the restaurant to ask if there were gluten-free options on the menu since there were several people with gluten allergies in our group. We were assured that there were several substitutions that could be made to make the food gluten-free friendly. However, when we were ordering, we were told only one gluten-free option was available on the menu. Unfortunately my gluten-free friends didn't have a choice of what to order and got the vegetarian arepa sandwich.

Although the restaurant is described as a tapas bar, there is a dedicated tapas section on menu. Because of this, I was under the impression that the other food items were entree-sized. I ordered a fish taco and a side order of yucca fries. The fish taco was delicious. The yucca fries were decent and were on the softer side instead of being crunchy. Since I ordered two dishes, I was satisfied with my meal. Some of my friends ordered the arepa sandwich, which was not on the tapas menu but was miniature! For a couple dollars more, the regular sandwiches were much larger with a side of fries. My friends were still very hungry after the meal and we got food elsewhere. We ordered pitchers of red and white sangria which were good.

Overall, the food and drinks were pretty tasty but I would be aware of the mini portions and a limited gluten-free menu.

  5. Two weeks in a row we've come here for happy hour
Two weeks in a row I've gotten surprise drunkey-stein and spent the following day in bed until noon

This place is great – its completely redone since the storm, and they decided to revamp from how it was before and target a different crowd (think: previously we were into the drunk frat guys in sandals, now we're looking at drunk teachers and quasiprofessionals in nicer sandals)

They always have a great happy hour, and their menu has a variety of different times of apps you can eat at the bar – which is all I've tried to date, but I plan on having a meal there AND brunch.  I like how they converted where it used to be beer pong tables, to actual tables.

the only thing I wasn't digging was how loud the music was – I literally couldn't hear my beefcake, and he was sitting right next to me.  Which is a problem, when you're a low talker like me.

  6. This is my go-to place when I hit Long Beach for the day. A close walk from the New York Ave entrance, it really can't be any better.

Everything I have eaten here has been tasty. I personally like to sit at the bar to eat, but that's not always an option. Service is always pleasant, and quick!

I know there are a ton of places out there, but this one has always stood out!

  7. I like Jetty now…but I loved it when it opened.

I feel like there isn't a crowd many times and the music is really loud so you can't speak.

It used to be a little bit more fun but it has died down and even the food is just ok (it was really good before).

I give it three stars because it's nice on an afternoon, maybe for a first date before it gets a bit of a crowd and music goes on.

Also, the bar doesn't have a great liquor selection.  And where the staff used to be attentive, now they forget part of an order and then say "oh you still want that?"

Despite my complaints, there is one shining star that does keep me coming back is $2 Tuesdays. They have a pretty full selection on the food and I highly recommend the fish tacos and arrepas ( these are soooo good and have remained that way). Great deal.

If you go for any reason, check it out on a Tuesday and eat something. Maybe you will go on a good day.

  8. Tapas bars are the biggest swindling bars around. They make you believe that you're not doing anything wrong if you order 7 different dishes because the portions are small.

Like, who the fuck was I kidding?

So I came here with my friend for dinner with intentions on getting a delicious salad. We ordered the jerk chicken skewers, calamari, jerk chicken arepa, mussel pot, skirt steak taco, yuca fries, and the empanada of the day. Not to mention, we were so curious about the fried pumpkin pie that Eric (an amazing manager/bartender) ordered it on him. So much for that got damn salad lmao.

The food was delicious. It wasn't busy at all so we were lucky to get our food in less than 15 minutes. Even the water was refreshing. Eric treated us well and had all open ears to our lovely female gossip. I had a great time and anytime I go back to visit my friend in Long Beach I'll know exactly where to go to grab a bite to eat.
