  1. The most stressful grocery shopping I've ever done, but I really enjoyed the great selection of produce they had. Literally, you are surrounded by other shoppers who are trying to push and shove. Stand your ground and browse!

I bought mostly produce- the prices were just right and good quality too! I got a huge bag of bok choy for super cheap.

The combination of noise, smells (they have an open fish area, hooo boy), and fellow shoppers is not for the faint of heart- if you can handle it and are chasing those deals, definitely check this place out for your Asian foods shopping.

  2. This place does its job. The groceries are not as fresh as some of the other markets near main street. Prices are competitive.

It never gets too crowded here which is a huge plus. Cashiers can be rude sometimes but that's with all Chinese supermarkets

  3. There are a lot of food, snack, and drink choices, more than other supermarkets.  Jmart is located in flushing's prime real estate right by the 7 train main street station.

Keep an eye for sales since there are always signs that show certain items on sale, perhaps items they want to get rid of from their inventory.  Hass avocado is typically about 99 cents or 1 dollar at any supermarket, but I've seen it here on multiple occasions where they have it for 50 cents, and only one this 25 cents.  Prices here are just amazing.

On the weekends, they have food and drink samples at the end of the aisles and it definitely is a great way to try something before buying.

If you are hungry before, during, or after your visit to Jmart, there's a very big food court downstairs which is part of the mall.  Or there are food stands and a bakery in Jmart.  Go for a visit if you haven't already.

  4. Typical chinese grocery market. Nothing special. Came here for shrimp and it wasn't that fresh. I will pass on this market.

  5. As the largest anchor of the huge indoor New World Shopping Center, J-Mart Supermarket is a Chinese-owned megastore in the heart of New York's biggest Chinese community. It's big and gets the job done when that job entails finding your favorite Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Filipino, or Korean groceries, seafood, meats, and produce.

J-Mart is convenient to the downtown Flushing Train Station. This makes the market an a-ok choice for residents or visitors to Queens. It may be the busiest and loudest market in the region thanks to the reasonable prices and wide selection of Asian food, fruits, vegetables, and merchandise.

Consider J-Mart your local one-stop shop for Asian stuff and fluff.

  6. Located in the New World Shopping center in Flushing, this huge Asian supermarket is a major test of one's time, patience and will not to snap.  You'll be pushed, shoved and poked as you go from aisle to aisle trying your hardest to get what you need and get the hell out of there.  I would rate it lower but their produce selection and their reasonable prices keep me coming back when ever I'm in the area.  Love it or hate it, you'll find some hard to come by fruits, veggies, meats and seafood.  Shopper beware though of the intense crowds.

  7. This is a great Asian grocery store with a huge selection!  We visited on a Saturday and it was packed and super fun to walk the aisles.  They have it all.  We found some great spices, etc.  Will be back!

  8. Lapin and I came here a couple of weekends ago. We were in the area and decided to stop by. The produce was decent quality at affordable prices. Some of the meats looked questionable but they were also very affordable. The place was big but crowded and people kept pushing without apologizing. The cashiers are also rude but I am starting to sadly notice a trend at Asian markets.
