  1. I think it's crazy to pay what I pay for what I get from here, but it does taste good.

Not, $5.75 good, but damn…I just like the vibe and the feel and the service.

It's so chill in here…Amazon was doing a film shoot here for 3 days and I couldn't get in…I saved like $30…but was it worth it?

    Was it worth it!?

FYI…if you like Doughnut Plant, they also sell some of their offerings to go with your coffee.

  2. I enjoyed my time at this Joe Coffee branch. I got the ham and cheese croissant with a cup of hot chocolate, both of which were delicious for a midday snack. The two baristas behind the counter interacted with me nicely when I asked them about their sandwiches and returned my plate and cup after I finished eating and drinking what I ordered.

The atmosphere of this Joe Coffee branch is nice– it has a floor to ceiling glass wall, which brings in a lot of light from outside. This is a great place to read, but not the best place to camp out and do laptop work. I also look for bathrooms at the cafés I go to, but unfortunately, this spot doesn't have one, so I took off a star for that. Otherwise, I'm a fan!

  3. A great alternative to Starbucks if you'd prefer a less corporate coffee experience in Greenwich Village. Seating is limited, but if you are lucky enough to grab a spot, it's a nice place to park for a while.

Baristas are friendly and the house coffee is strong. The to-go cups are super cute as well! 🙂 There's no bathroom that I noticed, so if this is a problem you might want to look for another place!

  4. minus 1 star because there's no bathroom… Coffee is a diuretic (aka everyone is going to need to go pee after a cup of Joe's coffee – it should be mandatory for all coffee shops to have a restroom it only makes sense)

Anyways, cute small store on NYU campus but with minimal seating.

    I had the:
+ LATTE W/ ALMOND MILK: wish was really hot which I appreciated especially since it was -7 degrees that day. They offer two sizes, which is equivalent to a Starbucks Grande and Venti!

+ HONEY GLAZED DOUGHNUT: it's a ginormous doughnut and I wanted to try what a honey glazed doughnut tasted like. It wasn't as sweet, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I wish asked for it to be warmed up- probably would have tasted better.

They do have a stamp card – so make sure to pick one up! I would say it's a standard coffee shop. Obviously Stumptown (few blocks away)  is more extravagant but I like Joe's coffee is more quaint and humble in feel 🙂

  5. One of the best dirty chai lattes I've had!! I asked for an almond milk dirty chai. The concentrate is vegan and dairy free (no honey I checked the label). They use Califia farm barista almond milk which is one of the best and creamiest!!

The dirty chai was not too sweet and you can taste the spices. Yummy and gingery. At Starbucks the chai just tastes like syrup and sugar.

The store itself is cute and well lit. Nice place to hang out or work by the windows (only about 2 tables are bigger and good for working). There is not that much seating however and some of the tables are very small and probably not meant for you to sit here for a long time

Prices are the 'standard' premium coffee kind of prices. Crafted espresso drinks are $4-$5. Extra 50c for almond and soy milk. Extra $1.5 for shot of espresso. So my only complaint is that my small dirty chai was $6!

Overall nice coffee shop and I will return if in the area. Good experience !

  6. Strolling down 8th Street, I was delighted to see the new light blue-colored Joe sign stand out.

I wish this Joe coffee shop was open during my youthful years at NYU then I could've been introduced to good quality coffee even sooner. The customer base for this Joe shop is mostly university students, a few tourists on the weekend, and probably the wealthy neighbors. It's a pleasant addition to the coffee scene on campus so the Think Coffee brand can be relieved its burden of being the only provider for good coffee around.

The space is neatly arranged with stools and tables, however, still rather narrow and can be a bit noisy when it gets busy.

Consistent with other Joe's I've visited, its lattes are well-crafted and made from quality coffee beans. Their coffee beans have a more floral (or you may think mildly sour) taste at first but let the latte sit for a few more seconds, the rich and bitter coffee flavor will come out to perfection.

  7. A friend brought me to this place in New York when I was visiting. The coffee and the interior is just great. Since several people can sit at one table, it is easy to talk to others and get into a conversation. Unfortunately no wifi 🙁

  8. Really cute and small establishment.

I got the cappuccino which is pretty thick on the milk foam, but the coffee is nice and smooth. Maybe not as strong as some other boutique coffee shops.

The staff is really friendly. Asked for the password for the wifi and the barista politely gave it to me. The staff is very laid back. So if you're in a rush, then you may need to go somewhere else.

Great place for students and teachers. 🙂
