Joe’s Pizza of the Village
“The fact that they are open late makes Joe's an excellent stop after an evening of drinking.”
“A million billion times better than the identical (but horrible) Joe's Pizza down the street at 5th avenue and like 5th street.”
“Actually, I live right above this joint so it's so easy – plus, as everyone has mentioned, it's open really late, which can be a lifesaver.”

I was in a hurry and starving. It is one of the few places in my area that are open late on a Sunday that is cheap and fast. Very ho-hum pizza.
$2.50 for a plain slice here felt expensive, not sure why. It wasn't very cheezy or saucy. It was a fine slice in the neighborhood. There is def better but also worse. I would go back if I needed a late night slice.
The worst pizza on planet earth, flavorless.
I ordered a plain slice, how can you possibly Screw up a slice of pizza?
The slice barely had any tomato sauce or cheese, the taste was flat, dry with no flavor whatsoever, your better off buying frozen pizza at the supermarket or ordering domino's if you have no other option.
I am sorry for being so straight forward but I have never had a tasteless pizza in my life and I had to warn my fellow yelpers to stay clear.
The 4 stars are related to what I had this first time: big slice of pizza margherita to take out, $2.50, kind service. That's all. It was "snack time", wanted a slice of thin crust good margherita pizza and I got it.
This place is only a fraction of the goodness that the Village location exudes.
Still its open late. It reheats you a slice real quick. Its no frills pizza from NYC. And they still have somewhat of a selection.
Great for a quick hunger fix. Especially great for a drunk hunger fix.
Dropped in here around 2 or 3 in the morning after a Friday night of boozing and cruising… well, it's hard to say you're cruising when you're riding the G train.
Anyway, we were in and out in about five minutes, and that's all the time it took to order the pizza, pay while it warmed up, and eat it as quickly as possible. And it was delicious! Perfectly thin New York pizza, evenly cheesed and sauced and greased.
$5 for two slices ain't so bad either.
Would give five stars but the prices are a little high. I think they use extra fresh ingredients and the pizza is pretty near perfect.
As a new resident of nearby Gowanus, this will certainly be one of the go-to pizza joints as it is a five minute walk away on the 5th Avenue strip.
Nothing special but exactly what I needed. I got drunk and ate a BBQ chicken slice here at like 12:30am. It was excellent and hot. Crust was properly crispy. And that's all she wrote.
