Joey’s Pepperoni Pizza

“I've only had their other slices a few times, so I can't speak to their quality, but if you're looking for a great, cheap slice of cheese between Chinatown and TriBeCa, this Joey Pep's stands out.”

“Came by after one too many drinks in Chinatown and ended up devouring two by myself.”

“Modern decor & Clean Establishment with a small seating area inside.”

  1. They off your basic New York special of two cheese slices and a can of pop—err—soda for 2.75 or basic cheese slices for $1 for those between paycheck days.  The pizza is solid. Good crispy dough.  They are sized just right for folding in half while you eat. I saw some complaints about them being burnt. This can happen occasionally because they cook them somewhat halfway and then finish them off in the oven on an order by order basis. It's not just sitting out waiting for somebody to hopefully get it while hot like some places do.

They excel with their toppings though. Great ingredients.  The buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken and bacon are my personal favorites.  There are a lot of options here.

  2. CHEAP PIZZA?! YES
guy picking his ear and then serve me the pizza? No thanks.
i would come here on a biweekly basis and my last few experiences were not very nice.
The slices i got last time were burnt.I would go back to complain but i was already short on time as i needed to get somewhere. It was completely black on the bottom. I ended up throwing the slice away and went to get pizza elsewhere later in the night.
Until i can recover from that trauma i think i will try another place until i can go back here with confidence.

  3. Holy pepperoni! Walked by, grabbed a slice of cheap-ass pepperoni pizza on the go. Greasy, cheesy goodness on a paper plate! This is New York, man! Love it! Is it good for you? Probably not. Would I do it again? Hell yeah!

  4. We were skeptical since the pizza was so in expensive – $2.75 for 2 pieces of pizza and a soda – we realized that it was cheese only for this but the pizza was still inexpensive- it was okay pizza but there are better places around the city – for $1 it is worth it though

  5. Kiss My Slice is no longer in the neighborhood so if you're looking for a slice this is your spot. The pizza is decent but not the best but I mean, it's $1, what more could you really ask for. The slice I had needed more flavor in my opinion and the dough towards the crust was thick and chewy. Overall, the pizza isn't terrible. Hopefully, the next time I try Joey's the pizza is better. I could have just gotten them at a bad time.

  6. Cheap and gets the job done. Best pizza ever? Nope but not bad and pretty cheap.

  7. I got a lukewarm slice from under the glass counter. I'd rate it pretty low on the $1 pizza scale. Not particularly crispy or tasty or hot.

  8. PIZZA! Yeaaaas.

(check) $1 slices of cheese pizza that do NOT taste like cardboard.
(check) Meal for $2.75- 2 cheese pizzas and a can of soda.
(check) Busy location to walk around and eat.

I was craving some pizza on a Thursday afternoon and googled the closest affordable pizza joint near me and came across Joey's Pepperoni Pizza. After a quick walk, I found myself in a busy intersection and was surprised at the amount of people sitting inside Joey's and buying pizza on a Thursday at 2pm!

Joey's is a fairly large pizza place with numerous pizza's sitting out ready to be re-heated. Buffalo chicken, mushroom, pepperoni, broccoli, etc. you name it, they probably have it! After throwing down a few dollars, I got my order to go and walked around a bit on Broadway before heading home.

To be noted: Joey's only has Pepsi products (gasp) your Coke addiction will need to be put on hiatus.
