Johnny Utah’s
“If you like bull riding, you are going to love Johnny Utah's. I like it because it's spacious with tall ceilings and unisex bathrooms (now guys feel our bar-bathroom-line-waiting pain).”
“Food is limited, pricey and the kitchen closes early…happy hour is great and sitting with a beer watching people ride the bull is one of my favorite things to do.”
“We split the wings and sweet potato fries, buffalo sauce was perfectly tangy, fries were nice and thick so you could tell they were fresh!”

This use to be the spot to come to for drinks & just to overall have fun. This is my first review so I'm going with an average here of 3 stars.
Not sure if there was a management change but it was always cool seeing the ladies hop on the bull. The bull's controller would make the magic happen but maybe ladies started complaining. My recent visit was a bit boring and the freaking Stella was hot all night well actually all of the beer. The ladies behind the bar looked overworked and once you got their attention the drinks weren't good. As a bartender I've always learned to make good drinks by doing good pours and the customers will keep coming back. Apparently this isn't the case here.
Anyway this is a mixed review because I've had amazing times here but it has been maybe 1.5 years since I've been back. Times have changed.
Oh yeah, this black dude who was apparently managing the Bulls entrance looks like he was fondling the girls. 3 of my friend girls complained that he was to touchy & tried to hit on another girl. Really dude?
This is without a doubt one of the worst bars I've been to. A friend of mine wanted to ride the mechanical bull and against my better judgement I agreed to go. We went on a Saturday around 8 and it was fairly empty, we didn't have to pay a cover which was nice. Upon walking in there was a poster listing some specials however the bartender had no idea what I was talking about. Ended up paying $9 for a nitro stout and $7 for a Coors which wasn't actually Coors (may have been the coors citrus radler). We grabbed a table and noticed a giant poster above our heads with "All American Saturdays" listed on it, the same special is listed on their website. Our waitress who was new wasn't familiar with it so she asked another waitress who didn't know and finally a bartender who said it was an old special. Mind you it's on their website and a HUGE poster. So we drank our beers and went for a couple bull rides which were fun. The bull looks in serious need of repair but it threw us off all the same. Definitely a place to avoid.
Came to this restaurant while visiting the city a few weeks ago. My boyfriend and I had no idea what type of food we were in the mood for but we knew we wanted to eat before seeing a show at Radio City Music Hall. It was located right down the street so we thought we would stop in. We had to walk down a bunch of stairs to enter the actual restaurant so we weren't really sure what to expect. To our surprise though it was actually a really cool place.
The first thing you notice is the ginormous mechanical bull located in the middle of the restaurant. If you're gutsy enough, you can put your name on the list and ride the bull for the whole restaurant to watch and laugh at. It was really entertaining watching all of the drunk people make their attempts at it.
When we put our name in we were told it would be about a half hour wait which we didn't mind because we weren't in any rush. So we decided to grab a few drinks at the bar. Or so we thought. Because it was so busy and they only had one bartender on, who was drunk out of her mind I will add, we barely got served. Also all of their beers on tap were still warm and out of order. And it was 6:30.
We were seated pretty quickly, and lucky for us, we got a table right on the outer circle of the mechanical bull ring! As far as food goes, we ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer. These were kind of gross to be honest. For our entrees, I ordered the steak fajitas and my boyfriend ordered a burger of sorts that came with pulled pork on top. He asked for it to be on a plain Kaiser roll as he did not like the roll that it came on. The fajitas were good but standard. They were self assemble, which I liked and came with all of the usuals: cheese, sour cream, salsa, guac, jalapeños, blah blah blah. They were good but nothing special. My boyfriend's burger came out on the wrong roll, and the kitchen was somehow out of Kaiser rolls, which they failed to tell us. As an apology, our waitress bought us two beers which we appreciated! She was very nice and very apologetic about the situation but my boyfriend still didn't really enjoy the burger too much. Additionally, it took her FOREVER to cash us out. We were deep in convo so I guess we didn't mind.
Side note: the bathroom is co-ed and the stalls are huge for some reason? hmm. Safe to say, I don't think we'll be coming back to Johnny Utah's. Maybe to ride the bull, though.
Love that I can ride the mechanical bull. But I'll admit it's super hard to get onto. But the man is willing to help you get on if you're struggling like I was. It was a lot of fun but I barely lasted 10 seconds. If you last longer than that I'm very impressed.
A lot of bars it's super loud so don't expect to be able to talk to people easily. The music is great though And lots of people are dancing.
The food is all right. We had nachos mozzarella sticks and other pub food. Tasted fine in the service really was very good. The woman we had, I don't remember her name, but she was very friendly. All the staff I interacted with was very friendly. The bartenders were nice the mat at the door checking IDs was nice and cool.
Something I really like to get a blow pop tootsie pop in the bathroom when I tipped the attendant. My drunk butt really liked that.
Stopped in here for some early week drinks with some friends so it was definitely a different atmosphere. Good time all around. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bar tenders are friendly. It's a good open space with plenty of room and even on a Tuesday you could tell the bull is a big draw. A spot worth checking out.
Okay so this place is kind of a shit show. Don't believe the hype. Come for one reason and one reason only….to ride the bull. That's the main attraction which is perfect if you're trying to have a "yolo" moment. They are somewhat responsible and have you sign a waiver and what not.
The place is pretty big but gets crowded REALLY quick. Bartenders are okay but they're definitely not all on the same page when it comes to specials and what have you. I do like the set up, there were a ton of TVs in view during the World Series. Also, the bathroom is cool, trendy, and huge but also unisex… why is that?
Anyways, the food is really disappointing. Don't get food. Come for cheap drinks and to ride the bull before you move on to the next bar.
I came here a few weeks ago for some drinks on a Saturday night and had soo much fun. The energy from the DJ/Emcee is great and the crowd is a lot of fun. They play a mix of music from current Justin beiber to old school n'sync. Overall a really fun time!
I picked a great spot my co-workers to take me to for my last week of work.
It was college night , pretty decent fast food, bull riding cheap happy hour drinks, and music was perfect not to old or new , and loud enough to here everyone.
I'd go back.
