Johnny’s Pizzeria

“Best combination of good Brooklyn style pizza and fast delivery I've found in Sunset Park”

“I almost always just get a plain or Sicilian pie, cheese sticks, garlic knots, zeppoles, pepperoni rolls, and pasta dishes or chicken parm sandwiches.”

“We got the Sicilian, and I tend to like my squares more saucy than cheesy–this was a very cheesy pie.”

  1. Maybe I'm biased because I grew up eating Johnny's Pizza but when I think about classic pizza in Brooklyn my mind automatically goes to Johnny's.

I remember being in elementary school and when the other kids had their birthday parties, they would always order pies from Johnny's. As a kid, nothing was better than a pizza party from Johnny's. I still remember how excited I would get when my dad let us have pizza after school. In an Asian household like mine, pizza was a treat when you were good – just like McDonalds.

Even after graduating elementary school and going off to high school and eventually college in a different area, I would still stop by Johnny's every once in a while for a slice or two. The slices are always thin – but super large. They don't skimp you here. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness (ahem I'm talking about you Papa John's next door).

I sincerely hope Johnny's never closes because even though I move away, I want to take my kids here for a treat.

  2. I came here expecting the pizza to be really good but it was only ok for us, though the price of a small 14" pie for around $6 can't be beat. Going up to a 20" increases the price a lot though, as a tip.

  3. Well they are really friendly for beginner however I don't see how special their pizza is. I got a regular 14" and the crush is too soft and nothing really "special". I can see this a regular pizza place but doesn't worth that much except for a quick bite.

There are like a million pizza place along the 5th ave and I would give other place a try too.

  4. Wanted some pizza while visiting our son in the area.  Friendly service and a tasty pie made for a good dinner.  The garlic knots were good as well.  Large cheese pizza, 5 garlic knots and soda for 3 was under $20!

  5. Huge pizza…. fast service (delivery).  I ate pizza every night for a week

  6. There are just so many great pizzerias in this neighborhood. One day I stumbled upon a special from Johnny's $6 for a 14" pie! I'm there! The pizza guy told me it'll be ready in 10-15 minutes and it's ready every time I head over to pick it up, never had to wait. The pizza, I thought it tasted okay, cheese and sauce was just right, bread was thin, but the crust was a little hard, with a softer crust it'll be perfect.

  7. What can I say Johnny's Pizza is a Sunset Park must. Their grandma slice is real, real good, cheesy, evenly spiced, super fresh mozzarella, is what Italians would call bennissimo. Their customer is not bad, neither. After you order you take a seat, the worker will bring the pizza to your table. Is real good and I would never go to Papa Johns which is located right next door to Johnny's. Johnny's is cool in my book.

  8. ONE HOT BLEEDING CHEESY MESS of a pizza slice I asked for. Fresh out of the oven, but shouldn't be oozing all over my hands. Kudos for quick sidewalk service, though, but not that tasty. Sorry guys.
