  1. Tiny sandwich shop that finally reopened after a move to a slightly bigger establishment. Got here as it first opened on a Friday morning and despite it being so early, the owner seemed to be the happiest person on the planet. Super nice guy that gave me the run down of the menu and the establishment in general.

Options consist of paninis, baked goods, and your standard selection of coffee. I like the fact that the entire menu is offered all day and not just lame breakfast items. Settled on the Grilled Chicken e Mozzarella Panini ($12) and an iced coffee ($4). Chicken is juicy and topped with melted mozzarella, tomatoes, and a slightly sweet chipotle mayo that put it all together. Meal also comes with a big of chips for the hell of it.

Coffee here is solid and a lot of the clientele seems to be regulars who come to have a chat with the owner just as much as having the food. Sucks that it's not open on Saturdays as I'd probably come a lot more often.

  2. Wow!!!!!  Now that is a great latte!!!!!  Seriously, one of the best I have had in Manhattan.  The space is small but the coffee and panini's make up for it.  Outstanding Panini's, top notch and a variety to choose from.  The staff is very, very friendly.  The proprietor, who I would believe is Jonny, "Straightened Me Out" when I had the audacity to order a Café au lait.  Too funny.  I will never make that mistake again.  Great place.  I always patronize places like this when I can and avoid the enormo coffee shops as much as possible.

  3. I have a word for this place… YUM. The chicken, avocado panini was mind blowing; the jalepeno aoli was quite frankly genius. I really enjoyed my lunch and would love to come here again some other time.

The service was also very good and the prices were very fair.

  4. Stopped by for lunch today.

I had the intentions of ordering #11: Turkey BLT but with chipotle mayo instead of jalapeno aioli. My mayo instead of aioli request was politely declined and I'm glad it was…the man has a vision for his sandwiches and the jalapeno aiolio perfectly complimented my sandwich and was not too spicy.

I had to wait a few minutes for my order, but it was worth the wait.

    Cute little place.

  5. Love this little spot – the food is wonderful and the owner is just as nice as they come. Jonny's is a hop, skip, and leap away from work, so I stop by once every couple of weeks.

I've tried two panini so far – the prosciutto and mozzarella one (which is #1 on their menu) and the prosciutto and provolone (#2) and they were both delicious. They're also pretty big servings, so both times I've eaten just half the sandwich for lunch and saved the other half for dinner. You also get a small bag of chips with your order!

It's a really small space (only two bar-style seats), so definitely plan to take your food to-go. It does take some time for the food to come out, so I'd expect that at peak lunch hours there might be a longer wait (I've only ever come around 2pm, and even then the wait is around 10-15 minutes). Just be prepared, but I think the food is totally worth it.

  6. Went here on a Monday afternoon after reading some good reviews about it on Yelp. Apparently this place is pretty new–owner said about 3 weeks old. Nevertheless, this place is already clicking on all cylinders.

For my sandwich I went with the #9 turkey panini which came with avocado and jalapeño aioli. This sandwich totally hit the spot. First off, the bread was so crisp and delicious and the sandwich was packed full of meat and avocado. To top it all off, the aioli was super tasty and all the flavors combined for a nice bite.

With each sandwich you get a bag of chips–which I didn't even need since the sandwich was so filling–and it only came out to around $10, so not a bad deal for lunch in HK.

If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, definitely check this place out. The only downsides are the limited seating area and the overall cooking time–but it's a made-to-order panini so it's going to take a minute.

  7. Amazing Prosciutto and Provolone Panini!  At $10 a pop it's par for the course in NYC. Johnny is super friendly and you can literally taste the love he puts into the food. I have a new fav panini joint. Hope to see you there!

  8. These Panini are so freakin' good. Undeniably. The bread is delicious. I love the chimichurri mayo with the chicken. This place gets packed and takes a while so just order in advance.
