I found Ju Feng on Grubhub. They currently have 31 reviews averaging nearly 5 stars. They take credit cards (on Grubhub), and deliver. Sounds great… NOT great.
THE BAD: Tonight Grubhub had a credit card processing error so I couldn't pay that way. I decided to set up the order as cash and pick it up so I could use a credit card at the store. Nope, they only take cash at the store. Major bummer! And parking is difficult so you have to double park in a busy area with a bus stop, not my style.
MORE BAD: The vegetable dumplings should be called cabbage dumplings since they contain only shredded cabbage and a tiny speck of carrot. The pastry is the thick heavy kind, bleh. The fried rice is very bland. We doctored it up with soy sauce so it would taste like something. The veggie bean curd soup was nice with fresh ingredients, however, I paid for a quart and only received a pint. Another screw-up: we ordered extra white sauce and received tartar sauce instead.
THE OKAY: My family reports that their dishes (sweet & sour chicken, sesame chicken, shrimp & broccoli) were much like they'd expect from any Chinese takeout and in no way special. The best thing about it was that the fried items weren't very oily. The Chinese noodles were also not oily, but we only got a little since the bags were only half-filled.
So yeah, I guess I feel like somebody sold me the Brooklyn Bridge. In the future I will always cross-check Grubhub ratings with other review sites.
Ordered take out from here for lunch. I don't have high expectations for Chinese take out food but the Pork and broccoli lunch special that I got here was actually not bad. $8 (tax and tip for delivery included) for a box of pork and broccoli over rice, egg drop soup, and bag of crunchies. Everything tasted standard but I'm fine with that. Just as long as it doesn't taste bad. We ordered at 11:15 and got our food half an hour later, just in time for lunch. I would order from them again.
