  1. 4.5 stars! So for 2 people, we really wanted to maximize what we could try and figured we can take extra home. We ordered 2 large pies. Classics, you can customize and the special ones you cannot. We got a classic margherita, 1/2 with pepperoni and the 1/2 with sausage ($6 extra for both toppings). The special we ordered was No. 1. We were really hesitant about ordering a #1 because it has no tomato sauce, but the waiter said it was really good. They put truffle oil so it isn't dry. It had Buffalo cheese, bacon, scallions, and truffle oil. The first bite I took was okay, but for some reason, it grew on me! Each slice became better and better and sooner or later, I kept wanting to eat the whole damn pie! Lol I didn't think I would like pizza with no tomato sauce, but damn no 1 was good! Surprisingly the scallions + truffle oil really brought the whole thing together. The pizzas are thin crust which I love because you aren't stuffing yourself up with dough. I usually don't eat the crusts, but for this place, I noticed I did. It was a good decision to get a red pizza and another white pizza. The no 4 is another very popular choice here, but too bad we didn't get to try it 🙁

    This place usually has a huge line out the door. We got lucky today because we went during the opening time on a national holiday so the line was "shorter."

    Prices are on the more expensive side for pizza, being about $30 for a large pie. The no 1 was $30, the classic magherita was $21 + $6 (2 toppings).

    I would def come back to try other ones!

  2. Great pizza, nice toppings, big servings. White pizza with truffle flavor very good.  Had some nice discussions about photography with our server also.

  3. This place sure lives up to the hype! I've had Grimaldi's years ago and it was definitely the best pizza I've ever had (my experience may not have been as authentic since I didn't wait for the pizza and I didn't dine in) – I didn't even know Juliana's is actually the original! However, when I found out, I immediately knew I had to give it a try. Honestly, I don't think there's a HUGE difference in taste (keep in mind, there is a four year gap in between) so I can't confidently say Juliana's is far superior.

    Still, no white or margarita pizza will ever compare to what I experienced here. I had the white pizza with sausage and the margarita with pepperoni and would highly recommend either. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of white pizza because I'm more a sauce person than a cheese person. However, the fresh garlic that is strategically placed on this pizza can easily convert anyone's misconceptions. The sauce on the margarita was amazing – perfect blend of the amount of sauce, thickness of the dough, and proportion of the basil. I couldn't have asked for a better eating experience.

    Some extra bonus points for:
    1. Having everyone who isn't seated wait outside, allowing maximum space for seated customers and giving them a nice/relaxing dining environment.

    2. A clean bathroom – very well kept considering the amount of traffic that walks in and out of there a day.

  4. Came here during the god-awful line on July 4th. Big mistake on our part, but the host was a great facilitator and the line turned out to be not too bad. We were seated eventually and the server came up to us immediately. Everyone was super busy and I actually wish we came on a slower day b/c the atmosphere felt pretty rushed. They only have two bathrooms here and the lines were abysmally long…albeit like I said, we came during a very busy time so I guess this was to be expected, though it still left a bad taste in my mouth.

    Speaking of bad tastes, my s.o. and I came here in search for good "Brooklyn" pizza. Hell, good New York City pizza.. as you can tell, we weren't from the area. We thought this would be the end all and be all based on yelp reviews. Sigh.

    Salt…salt…salt..salty salt SALT. What did they do to the pizza? It was so incredibly salty that we had trouble downing it. It literally tasted as if someone pre-opened the salt shaker and the person actually seasoning accidentally poured the entire salt shaker onto the pizza. It was SO incredibly bad that it made me lose total faith in this place.

    Ofc we weren't going to be those asses that ask for another pizza during this oh-so-busy time. Kudos to the waiter for asking anyway, but honestly, this was probably the most oversalted pizza in my LIFE.

    I really wanted to give this place at least 4, but that pizza was terrible. The crust was not as crisp as I'd liked it to be either but man.

    6/10, would come again once in a blue moon (and not order that special no. 1)

  5. GOOD:
    -this place is right next to famous Grimaldi's pizza and in my opinion is way better that the latter!
    -first of all the staff is so nice and hospitable! service is simply outstanding
    -they do accept cards
    -they serve alcohol
    -prices are very decent
    -awesome interior
    -…and of course -FOOD! One of the best pizzas I've had in my life!

    BAD:
    -can't think of any

    From now on this will be my go to place anytime I crave a pizza!

  6. I've forgotten how good Juliana's is. FYI, this is the original Grimaldi's, and the sign that claims otherwise at the Grimaldi's establishment next to Juliana's is simply false advertisement.

    The super thin crust pizza here is delicious. The cheeses, the marinara sauces, the basil, etc are off the charts good. The red and white pizzas are equally captivating, while the specials are a cherry on top. If you want to leave room for menu items other than pizza, then the meatball appetizer and the Brookie dessert are the way to go.

  7. I had to try Brooklyn pizza while I was in town. I was told about another place from a fellow Yelper but they were closed on the day I wanted to visit. So the quick Yelp search, this one came up.

    Parking was difficult. I found a garage with some walking (it was $17 during first one hour). Since it wasn't lunch or dinner time, they weren't busy at all. Walked in and seated immediately.  However, as the time passed (got closer to dinner time), they were full.

    Pizza I had was just okay…. I think I expected too much. It wasn't bad at all but not the best pizza.  I think it's the best to eat scamorza fresh.  Pancetta dn white truffle had great flavor.  I could care less about their dough.  I saw a nice oven in the kitchen, so I don't understand why the dough didn't taste proper.

    Service was standard, nothing special.  Portion size was huge.

  8. Originally I had reservations for a restaurant in Williamsburg, but since we were in Dumbo, my boyfriend and I took to Yelp to find a place closer. We cam across Juliana's, which was apparently founded/owned by the original Grimaldi. It's actually right next to Grimaldi's as well. The line sizes for both places were comparable, but we were eager to try Juliana's. Waited about half an hour, but that was fine, as I was catching Pokemon. Once we were seated, we decided to split a large Margherita with prosciutto and pepperoni. The combination of the meats plus the cheese and the thin crust made the pizza absolutely delicious. I don't remember Grimaldi's, but the pizza at Juliana's was top notch. The large was also a bit much for us, as we had a few slices left over.. which was no problem to eat the next day. If I'm ever in Dumbo again, I would definitely go back.
