“And for bad weather days or when the rooftop is full, there's a sort of garden dining room on the ground level as well, covered by skylights.”

“Would have loved to have seen the roof deck but it was closed getting ready for a wedding that afternoon.”

“The brunch drinks are amazing– the cucumber drink is refreshing during the summer time but strong at the same time.”

  1. I absolutely love Juliette.  One of the best restaurants in Brooklyn in my opinion.  The food is delicious – everything I've tried has been and I've dined her numerous times.  The menu is vast and they have daily specials.  Something for everybody.  And the ambiance is amazing.  The indoors as well as the ROOFTOP (yes rooftop!) are both so adorable.  Highly recommend!

  2. Stop the presses… I'm about to PRAISE Williamsburg.

Spouse and I had A LOT to talk about, so we decided to go on a long walk (read: approx. 1.2 hours) to Williamsburg. At 10:45 pm at night, it was not easy to find a place to get a snack, sit… and relax.

We were looking for a snack and saw that Juliette had escargot, so we went for it. We walked upstairs and sat on the unexpected rooftop and had a really nice time. The main reason was because of the server (His accent made it sound like he was from Brazil). He was so sweet, helpful and unhipster (!). It was so unbelievably refreshing. At one point it started to rain and we were transferred to another table, under a canopy, with no fanfare.

Oh, the appetizers and dessert that we tried were great. Especially the escargot and the sticky date pudding (served w/ some cognac).

I would absolutely go back just to sit on that rooftop.

  3. It was so nice dining on the deck for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. I split the veggie sandwich (a special, perhaps?) which came with thin fries and a simple green salad. The sandwich was pretty good. It was filled with creamy goat cheese, zucchini, eggplant, roasted red bell pepper and arugula? Something like that. I ended up picking out half of the eggplant simply because I'm not a fan of the flavor/texture but the sandwich was tasty enough. I didn't have any of the fries (self control people) but I did have quite a bit of the salad. Whew it had a kick! Which I don't mind but some may prefer less bitter greens. The dressing was simple, but good. The greens were evenly coated but not drowning in the dressing. If you don't have a huge appetite I do recommend splitting your meal. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Really the best part was relaxing in the sun.

  4. Delicious! Came for brunch and almost didn't leave.  A selection of champagne cocktails – I suggest the blood orange mimosa.

All the egg dishes are delicious. But whatever you order, don't forget the hash bombs. It's this amazing fried ball of potato stuffed with oozy cheesy goodness. Oh my goodness, was that a treat. We actually ordered a second plate of them so no fights would break out at the table over who got the last.

Another must order was the lemon blueberry pancake with creme fraiche. It's like a crepe and a ricotta pancake rolled into one. So good! And it comes with real maple syrup, praise be.

After all of that you may be tempted to try dessert but in all honestly you could skip. Not that it's bad, it just seems like a let down after all the amazing food. Stick to coffee and go elsewhere for dessert if you must have something more after all of the above.  It better yet, order the pancake for dessert!

  5. 4 stars+ in any other city, just not NY.  Good brunch, but not great brunch.  Quite a wait on a Sunday, was made even worse as they're fancy texting machine didn't work and they never thought to just walk up to the bar and ask every single person about their tables.  I guess it worked for them as we ended up ordering a third round at the bar before being seated.

I was expecting 5 stars out of this beautiful little place in Williamsburg, so maybe that's why I'm being harsh with the 3 stars.  It was good(A-OK).  I had a benidict with some almost perfectly poached eggs.  The french toast to my right is what I should have gone for though.  Looked amazing.

The decor in this place is amazing.  Plants everywhere.  If I'm ever in the area again, I won't hesitate to give it another shot, although it probably won't be my first choice with so many other choices in the area.

  6. First trip to Brooklyn (but not first trip to NYC) was a success.

I'm pretty sure the Dutch pancake was the best pancake I've ever had. Lemon zest, blueberries, and crème fraîche. Divine.

  7. I've now been to Juliette for both Brunch and Dinner, and I think this is one of my favorite underrated spots in Williamsburg. The indoor garden is the perfect adorable space for a date or a meal with friends.

Both times I went, the waitress was both friendly and knowledgable about the gluten-free options, there were plenty of options in both the form of menu staples and creative specials – The gluten-free options really go beyond the typical bland, sauceless, simple dishes of other restaurants

For Brunch: I had the corned beef hash with poached eggs and chipotle hollandaise special – such complex flavors for a GF dish, and I started with the grapefruit brulee, super sweet and tart treat

For Dinner: I had the crispy natural chicken – paired with the cheddar grits, rosemary jus and swiss chard, this was a really balanced and filling dish!

One thing to keep in mind – they don't take brunch reservations, so it can be a bit tough to get a table during peak brunch hours on Saturday or Sunday.

I can't wait to check it out once the rooftop opens with the warmer weather!

  8. Stopped by for a cocktail during happy hour. Got the Old Fashioned, it was well made and good.  They use angostura bitters, rosemary syrup, and honey.

The bar area is quaint and homey, bartender was friendly.  Not too crowded at 6pm.
