  1. Second sushi place I've tried on Broadway. I liked it better here. Their Astoria Roll was delicious and flavorful. I went during the lunch special and got a few rolls for cheap, plus a salad and soup! I'll definitely be back.

  2. Great times at Junko sushi!!!! The restaurant has some of the best rolls and miso soup ive ever eaten. Not to mention I tried Plum Wine for the first time and it has become a fan favorite. Amy was our waitress and she was phenomenal. She had a great sense of humor and was very attentive. She even gave us a complimentary salad and desert. Cant wait to return!! And after sushi you can head upstairs to Yoga Agora for a yoga class or meditation!

  3. Finally! A place that has a spicy 3 roll combo where all 3 rolls are amazing (tuna, salmon, white tuna). All that and a peanut sauce salad for just $14.50.

It's great sushi on a budget, but I really don't think it tastes cheap. Sure it's not master grade quality but I think this place does the trick. We also got edamame beans and while the serving size was large, they weren't salted that much.

There is limited table space and we did feel like we were rushed out of the place towards the end of our meal, but I wouldn't hold that against them.

  4. Sushi was delicious! We got tuna salad, spicy tuna roll, and shumai which were all good. Place was pretty busy when we were there but overall service was good too! I highly recommend trying!

  5. My go to sushi restaurant in Astoria. Great rolls, good sushi, and they always deliver fast. Not the highest quality sushi out there but it's very good for for dinners during the week. This hits the spot for me.

  6. After a couple days of gluttonous eating, I kept it pretty simple by ordering their lunch combo with 2 rolls- white tuna with avocado and Alaskan salmon with cucumber.  Choice of miso soup or salad…I chose incorrectly with the soup, which was very weak tasting and inedible.  The rolls however were fresh and delicious.  They were made super fast…it took longer for me to decide on which rolls than it did for the order to be completed.

  7. Not my favorite, but it's a convenient location and is one of the better sushi places in the Broadway area.

The sauce for the shumai was really good.  I used it on the Seared Tuna Salad we started with as well.  The tuna was definitely not the best quality.  You can always tell by the color of it.  It was a lot lighter in color than the usual dark, bright red.  The dressing was pretty tasty.

The snow crab roll with avocado is my favorite.  It was topped with spicy mayo that was not spicy at all.  And we also had the spicy tuna roll, which had more filler than tuna.

Probably won't be back.  But service was excellent.

  8. Although I don't find myself in Astoria too often, my friend lives here so I turned to him for Sushi recommendations. I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before a Yelp event and we found ourselves at Junko! Right on the corner along Broadway, it's a place you cannot miss. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura roll and the Philadelphia Roll. They came out fairly quickly but were patient with us since this was a "catching up" kind of dinner. It was pretty empty with the exception of two couples. Overall, my sushi was delicious. The tempura was crunchy and not soggy. And the Philly roll, classic. The inside was clean and they even opened up the doors/windows to let the fresh air in which was nice. And the staff were very friendly.

If I am ever in the area again, I'll definitely be back!
