  1. Chopt is like a Starbucks with fancier salads and higher prices. Just Salad is like a Dunkin' Donuts, its cheaper and not trying to impress anyone.

Like all mid-town lunch places, there is chaos. Long lines, small places, people shouting inaudible order and line numbers and virtually no time to hesitate ordering or pulling out a credit card to pay.

Yes, the bread is stale and sucks just like Chopt "bread". But, the salad and wraps are great. Big size and quality products. They have level-up if your into that.

  2. This place still sucks…
I hated the delivery guy from this place a year ago. But I really craved for salad during late working hours. So I gave it a try. I ordered from this place twice this month. Both times failed with the simplest thing!
    – Ordered a chicken Caesar salad with portobello mushroom. That big axx mushroom was cut half way and slap on top of the salad (see the picture I uploaded). There were like less than 6 pieces of chicken in there (6 little cubes). They probably gave me less than 1 squeeze of dressing which is all the way at the bottom of the container. The rest of the salad was dry.
    – Ordered a salad with an extra avocado dressing on the side. EXTRA means I still want dressing in my salad. It was dry as hell. I called and complain and apparently it's the "head office" of Just Salad. They called the store and asked them to deliver another dressing for me. They say it would arrive in 10 mins. They never came
I guess me and the people in my office will NEVER order from Just Salad again!

  3. Really enjoyed my salad, but not so much the rushed service. You just have to know what you want and how the process works before you walk in, even if it's your first time (like it was for me). There is NO time to ponder if you go at peak lunch time.

  4. Felt like it's about time to give an update on my review, as I have been visiting this Just Salad location for more than 30 times now and probably have had encountered everything.

First – food quality, 4.5/5. Everything was sourced local and freshly prepared; and you could taste that out easily. They occasional provide seasonal add-on (the one I liked the most was roasted cauliflower) for slightly higher price.

Service – quick and attentive, 4/5. I deducted one point here as sometimes they messed up with my order; however they changed it quickly with apologies.

Wait time – 5 min if coming in before 1130; much longer if after 12.

In one sentence, I really enjoyed my salad and experience here and as the check-in shows, will be constantly coming back!

  5. EPIC FAIL – STOP TRYING TO KILL ME.

JUST SALAD? I think JUST SAD. I've been a loyal JS customer for quite some time now, religiously carrying my green reusable bowl to fill up on the extras and what have you. I gave you ample time to make up for having put NUTS AND CARROTS IN MY SALAD – neither of which were ever requested (there were a couple cranberries, too – which I didn't mind as much). I AM DEATHLY ALLERGIC TO NUTS. Don't you people know how dangerous that could be? I asked for a turkey health cobb – THERE ARE NO NUTS in that salad, and it's the ONLY salad I get from JS. I'm not allergic to carrots but I absolutely hate it.

If it wasn't for an occasion that brought me to midtown sometimes these days, I wouldn't be ordering from JS ever!

I reached out and messaged this location (since ya'll don't pick up the phone anyway) after having THROWN my salad out to tell them THEY PUT NUTS IN MY SALAD – which wasn't asked for nor is it part of this signature salad. No thanks to slow death by nuts. I got a message back a couple days later (undeserved patience) from the manager, to which I responded to in minutes. I have YET to hear back from her. I replied to her via email AND via Yelp, and nothing. Really? Either there's a TON of negative messages that the manager has to respond to (but that can't take long – it's the same message sent out to everyone), or they're just not paying attention. This is a service industry business, and you've failed in that regard. I gave you the benefit of the doubt that it was a honest one-time mistake before posting this review (like I said in my message). I gave you the opportunity to correct the error, not just throw out a template message that's left on every negative review – why not have a robot do that? If you're not expecting a response to your response, which asks that we reach out to you, why do you even bother?

Service is already terrible at most JS locations, but when you get a salad you can't even eat and you've paid $12, I EXPECT YOU TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. Who wants to throw money and food away?? ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M STARVING. Shame on you.

  6. Just Salad. I REALLY wanted to like you, no worries, I will be back very soon.

Tip: Do NOT get the Tandoori Chicken. Seriously, it tastes oddly sweet and spicy (and not in the good way). The other combinations that go with it- pita chips, feta, red onion, cucumbers- are awesome…just switch the protein.

I came here to grab a quick lunch on a Friday and was in and out in the door in 10 minutes. I decided to get something on the menu, no substitutions/additions, so it was easy, but I can easily see how someone would get frustrated when their order gets messed up or the lack of customer service at the salad counter.

The person who "chopped" my salad was awesome. They make sure to get every last piece of lettuce into the bowl and move quickly to ensure everything is mixed well. A decent size salad for $10? I'm down! I don't think it was too expensive and I was filled before I finished the whole thing.

*Ps. Just salad is not "just salad" you can make a wrap too 🙂

  7. Hit or miss Just Salad location. It's always busy, or it at least appears that way. This is one of the smallest locations I have ever seen (and I used to work in FiDi where everything is small). No seating whatsoever but still plenty of people working and 5 or 6 chopping stations so the line moves quick. They also have someone who takes your order so you can head right to the chopping station.

The staff is friendly but the newer guys haven't memorized the dressings yet. The can of soda I got was a can of ice. I opened it at my desk and it nearly exploded, then I saw and heard the ice crunching around inside. So…The fridges are kept much too cold. The salads are usually pretty good but sometimes they're a little bland and I cannot figure out why. Still a decent spot to grab a (relatively) healthy lunch. $10 or so with a drink which is a bit steep but it's Midtown so what do you expect?

  8. Picked up lunch from Just Salad yesterday…here are my thoughts:

Service is rushed and unfriendly. I explained it was my first time ordering but nobody really cared to explain the process so I stumbled through the confusion like a moron. The place was super busy and the lines were long.

My grain bowl was bland. I had the quinoa/lentils with bell pepper, broccoli, pepperocini, and carrots. I asked for olive oil as my dressing and the guy at the chopper station – who didn't really chop my salad at all – poured it on so liberally that was all I could taste. The olive oil also leaked out of the container and all over the bag.

The premium toppings looked much better than the standard toppings, and I really wanted to add shrimp or maybe avocado to my order, but couldn't justify an additional $4 – $6.

I ended up paying $10 for my lunch and expected far more for this price. Why would I return when I can go to Dig Inn and get better for for less?

Sorry to be harsh but this place is really Just Terrible.
