I came in here with a friend who recommended the vanilla chai — so good! I will definitely come back again.
It's been over 2 years since I've last reviewed Kahve. Not much has changed. Same amazing coffee. Same smiling friendly faces. Same delicious pastries. A few changes…
An awesome new manager (the former one now manages Kahve's new location at 47th and 10th in addition to overseeing the original 9th ave shop) and some new wood tables made from recycled wood. Some new pastries like the pumpkin and chocolate whoopie pies ($3), the ham & brie croissant, and a few more. Plus their seasonal "coffee" cocktails which add a little sweetness to their self-roasted espresso beans.
Kahve is already four years old and with good reason – the owners truly love their work as do the baristas. Every coffee and food item sold is handed to you with a smile. Plus it's tasty and I'll continue coming back whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Keep it up Kahve! Looking forward to the next four years and more!
The coffee was fantastic (as was the chai), and both sandwich/toasts we got were delicious as well. Cute, clean, and definitely worth going back to.
The only reason I am giving a 4-star rating is because a VERY simple food order took a VERY long time – and the place was not even that busy. People were ordering drinks, but no one got food – and it still took forever. It was worth the wait once we got it 🙂
Location: Hell's kitchen is where you get different cuisines all at once. Kahve has been famous for its zebra mocha since its latte art is so distinctive. At least, that 's what i feel before I went through all those yelp reviews and bookmarked.
So yeah, I got zebra mocha. The latte art is not what I want to see
Bummer.
And the flavor is okay.
I was excited to come here since I just moved to NYC and I'm trying to find where my favorite coffee stops might be. Based on the ratings I decided to stop in.
First thing I noticed was that the place is teeny tiny. Very few spots to sit unfortunately.
Second, the kid working at the front was nice enough, although seemed to be more concerned with talking to his coworker than to the customers.
I ordered a pastry (which is supposed to be buy one get one after 5) a few mins past 5. The free pastry was never offered, so I suppose I should've just asked for the free one, but I hate being that person. I also ordered the Iced Almond Chai Latte. I was hoping for it to blow me away since there are pretty good reviews on drinks, but unfortunately I was very "eh" about it. Partially because the latte itself was mediocre, partially because the 6 people that came in after me had their orders made for them before the barista even bothered to start my drink. It appeared that some of them were regulars, but it didn't really bode well. Due to the combination of mediocre food/drink with mediocre service, I don't plan on stopping in again.
Small clever little shop. Noisy but quaint. Major bonus – they serve almond milk. Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies are divine.
Had a delicious latte there on a Saturday evening. Teeny tiny space, wish they had more room for tables – I'd be there all the time! Service was super friendly and efficient, they cranked through a big group of people in short order.
Will definitely return when looking for a latte to go in Hell's Kitchen!
I'm very pleased with a delicious and fresh tasting coffee. Because of the monopoly of Starbucks it can be hard to find a good specialty shop but this place has what it takes. Almost a crack in the wall (actually though…hard to move around if you have a backpack or there is a lineup) the servers are always very friendly, very quick and pump out quality drinks.
They have some interesting specialty items – I had a chocolate covered strawberry latte last time I was in – and the classics as well. If you know Starbucks is overpriced, come here to get what you pay for.
