Came back here again after my horrible experience at Sultan's (see review.) We originally got seated inside but it was a little too warm for us so we asked to be sat on the patio. Of course, the staff there is extremely accommodating and moved us to the patio (where they have heat lamps.)
Our server is the lady with glasses who is really sweet! I can never remember to write down her name but she is always really friendly. The muhammra (sp?) and arabic salad with chicken are always made to perfection! The hookah and the food always arrive quickly as well.
Again, the managers (or owners) are always walking around interacting with guests and helping the staff. I appreciate the consistency that Kamil's offers, unlike some of the other hookah places in the area, they always welcome a customer even when busy and have great food!
This is a decent spot. They are not the friendliest but they pack a good hookah. Their food is ok some of it a little pricey. One complaint is when my friend and I went and wanted to share a hookah, they told us we had to order food or another hookah which is stupid.
*hummus with meat (this was not as good as I thought it would be, it was WAY too salty!!!!! I couldn't believe how salty this dish was; in addition, the meat was too tough; I didn't appreciate this dish except for the texture of the hummus)
*falafel (what is going on? this was alright but it's definitely much better at Toros or Beyond Pita; there wasn't that great of flavor inside; there wasn't a lot of spices in it and it was nothing phenomal)
*kufta kebab (this was alright; the meat was too well done so it wound up being kind of dry; the meat itself had decent flavor but I've had better; the rice was decent although there could have been more of it; there was chopped parsley and other greens with chopped raw red onions, I found no point in these; then there's the grilled tomato and shallot, what is the point of that???? this dish was mediocre at least; the service sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these people are so selfish, it was so annoying; the place didn't have much of a middle eastern ambience, it was qutie plain; they added WAY TOO MUCH salt to every dish which sucked; I feel as if i need a gallon of water to flush this out.)
do not go here!
This is another average hookah bar for the area. It's a restaurant first, hookah bar second. Food is a bit more expensive than the other restaurants in the area. The main reason I'd go to a place that serves hookah is to have hookah. If I just wanted good Middle Eastern food, I'd just go to a restaurant, like Al-Basha down the road.
Another thing that annoys me is that they refuse to mix flavors in hookah, which is half the fun of smoking hookah. The only mixes they'll pack come pre-mixed in the package, like grape mint, or orange mint. Not my first choice for a hookah in the area.
Love the food and the vibe but like many other people mentioned, the service can range from attentive (rare) to dismal (usual). Our regular waitress makes me feel like she is doing me a favor by taking my order. Although I have eaten there many times, she has never said anything to me besides repeating my order. No hello, no welcome, no chit chat at all. She has never returned to the table to ask if I wanted to order more food or to ask if I wanted the check. If I want to do so, I usually have to get up from the table and find her at which point she seems fairly pissed off for me interrupting her texting or phone calls.
Tip is added to the bill for parties of 4 or more but it was added once or twice when were 3. It's is also calculated on the entire bill including tax which I think is somewhat unnerving. I have to assume that this is a result of many people choosing to either pass on or leave a stingy tip, totally understandable given the horrendous service.
That said, the food and ambience really can't be beat. On a warm night there really is no place I would rather go. The humous, mixed grill, falafel and baklava are superb. If the service was better they would probably be a lot more crowded so it may just be a blessing in disguise.
This review is based off of falafel alone being that's all I had from here.
My coworker brought me an order of falafel from Kamil's and I must say they were the best falafel I have had yet. Even after travel and steam formed in the container the falafel remained crisp and had the perfect texture. My biggest thing here was that I am really not a tahini fan at all and I LOVED theirs! It was absolutely delicious and added the perfect flavor to enhance the falafel overall.
I can not wait to come here myself and try everything!
Eh… Nothing out of this world and not something to brag out. Def overpriced in comparison to the surrounding restaurants.
Came here because our first choice was charging a minimum per person and not everyone was eating. Nice outside seatting area. I feel like it might be larger then their actual dining area.
Service is super slow here and very inattentive. My food came out before my appetizer and no one came around to see if I needed anything, which I did! My appetizer literally came out once I was done with my meal.
I only rate this place three stars because their outside seating is nice and the Hookah was spot on. There's just to many places that are exactly like this in the area for them to not even offer good service.
Short Review: I RECOMMEND!
The Good:
-The interior design was polished, high-end, and clean
-The service was warm and friendly, not to mention totally beautiful (Is the waitress Muslim and single? jk my mom may be reading this, sorry ma)
-The table and seating was clean and comfortable
-Best Kibbeh Nayyah I have had in a very very long time
-The price was affordable too
The Bad:
-I didn't marry the waitress
The Nutshell:
New spot I will check out again in the near future! Great for business meetings, romantic outings, or bringing the whole family to eat and enjoy.
