Definitely the best place to get kibbeh in New York. Very flavorful and definitely not dry at all.
It's a small place in a busy shopping area of Brooklyn. You will likely get frustrated if driving as parking will be a nightmare.
Everything is made fresh. I prefer the chicken shwarma over the lamb (which tends to be dry). Very generous portions. Plenty of salad/side options. Definitely will satisfy your appetite.
The chicken over rice with pita bread tasted pretty good. Instead of the chicken being chopped up completely, you can still see the pieces of chicken. It is more expensive than the halal you get from the carts, but I like the fact that you can see the pieces of chicken. As for the pastry, I don't know what it is called, but it was expensive ($1 for a piece) and it tasted mediocre. It is basically puff pastry with lots of sugar inside. I would definitely want to try the lamb over rice next time.
omg, the chicken shawama was superb! so satisfying!
service was quick and friendly, the place is kind of small, but have few seatings if you decide to stay.
I've been coming to Karam for years but haven't recently. I only get the chicken shawarma sandwich and it's fabulous. Everything is fresh, tasty and flavorful. My favorite part are the radishes. However to my surprise during my last visit the sandwich was $8! I remember it being lower than that. For that price, I'd rather go to the halal cart nearby on 86th and 5th and get a mix combo over rice for $6!
The chicken shawarma pita lives up to all of my expectations from these reviews! Just try it, you won't be disappointed.
It's fresh with juicy freshly cut chicken. Inside has a type of mild garlic sauce. So delicious! Not the type of garlic sauce that will leave your breath kickin for the next few hours until you brush your teeth, it's just enough. It's a small place with about 6 tables, so if you stay you gotta try and find a seat. When I was eating inside there was continuously a line and people coming in and out. I am really glad I gave this place a try!
Love this place. Such great fast and quick service. The food is fresh and the turnover is great, so you know you are getting fresh food.
The staff is great and accommodating. I am a regular there on take out and it gets busy. Don't forget to the get the garlic butter, it's so damn good.
I usually get the shish taouk with the works and completely awesome. And the baklava is just terrific, just needs a dab of chocolate.
I haven't been to this place in some time so stopped in for a quick bit of lunch and based on a bunch of things to do I placed my order to go. On arrival the place was rather busy and they were dishing out the orders fast and furious. I didn't wait more than five minutes and ordered up a Falafel sandwich and an order of the grape leaves with beef and rice.
This space is quite small and while there are a handful of tables there, each is made for no more than two patrons and you will be standing directly with folks at the counter ordering. Depending on the time of the day this could be annoying. Over the speakers, Arabic music was playing and some of the staff was humming along to it and if you need to speak the language as well the staff can definitely work with you there.
The experience was quick but a pleasant enough one and my food was very tasty. Perhaps I will get there again soon and try some of the other offerings. I like a few different kinds of Middle Eastern cuisine and the price was very reasonable. My two items ran me just under $10. Give them a try if you are in the vicinity.
Ordered takeout and everything was great. From the rotisserie chicken to the hummus. I think the bone in my Chix was just an off day and someone in a hurry to make a sandwich.
I'd order the rotisserie chix and some sides. Their sides are delicious and the people working in there were super friendly and nice. I'd totally order from them again. Glad I gave them another chance.
