So thoroughly impressed by this place!! Thankfully we have a reasonably priced delicious fast-food Turkish spot. It beats Beyti in Union City in cost and is comparable to some unique spots in cliffside park in taste. It's doesn't have any special spin on Turkish food but rather offers great, traditional, and well-seasoned Turkish food.
The humus, shepherds salad, borek, Adana kebab, chicken kebabs, and baklava were all great items. I imagine all of it will be good and even better if we eat it at the restaurant. Food was FAST delivery and amazingly packed…
Definitely found our NJ delivery spot for Turkish food.
Great food. Been here a couple of times now when visiting the area.
Chicken kebabs, spicy rice (not heat wise) are fantastic. Get the turkish bread and skip the pita, awesome !
Like others have mentioned this place is usually empty which is too bad cause the food is really good. I hope they are doing a brisk delivery business…..
I've eaten in (outside area is great) and had delivery on several occasions and all have been terrific. I have ordered the Doner Kebab (Gyro…not the Reindeer), Chicken Adana, and the Mix…everything has always been delicious. I've ordered the Falafel and Hummus as appetizers. Falafel was cooked right I just wish it had a better spice mix…it's (for me) a little toned down then others I've had. Hummus is very good and is (IMO) better than Beyti (which is always overly sesame in flavor). The Shepherd Salad has always been fresh and delicious. Getting the check has been a chore; it seems staff is unsure of pacing and there have been times we debated going inside to pay the check but waited out our server.
When ordering delivery they provide ample Pita. Delivery has always been quick and friendly also.
Coffee and tea are tasty also.
I don't know that I've ever experienced "bad" Turkish….lamb/chicken kebab's are always grilled the same, kofte is always kofte like (ground beef in a hot dog shape). Gyro (Doner) as do appetizers vary and with that said Kabab is on top of their game. Overall very tasty. I will continue to frequent this place… and look forward to each tasty bite.
So happy we stumbled across this place. Yummy food and a very sweet staff.
We ordered hummus, babagannush, the shepard salad and one of the spicy lamb dishes with tomatoes & onions (forgot the name). Everything was delicious. So hard to stop picking at everything even after you're full! Sooooo tasty.
I will say that it was a bit hectic in there. Maybe they're a little understaffed? Still, our waitress was incredibly nice and apologetic. She even offered us dessert for the long wait (we got a little baklava to go). I felt really bad that she had a bunch of delivery calls coming in on top of managing all of the tables by herself. Get the poor girl some help!
Anyhow, we will DEFINITELY be coming back. Despite the wait, we got great service and really tasty food.
Street parking only. They have a few meter spots in front, but it's pretty limited.
Came in for lunch with a buddy. As soon as you walk in, you can tell it's going to be a no frills type of place. Pictures of food as decoration. Cooler for soda and other beverages in the corner. Silverware wrapped in napkin. Menus are already on the plates to help expedite the turn.
They have couple of lunch special options for a little under $10. Each comes with choice or soup or salad, the main entree, and a soda. The lunch portion size is not bad. Basically, half portion of the protein, but everything else seems to be the same as regular.
I opted for the Adana special while my friend had the gyro. The Adana was good. It came with rice and a bit of salad. Meat was tender and seasoned, and the rice was cooked nicely. (Beware of that little green pepper that's placed around the salad. It's pure evil!!!) We also shared some falafels and I got a lentil soup.
Service is a bit of an issue here. Not that they were rude, but it was just one single waitress for the entire room. It wasn't crazy busy, but I could tell she was still stretched a bit thin between the tables, managing pick up orders, and other tasks.
Overall, decent food, but the location is a bit awkward.
Ditto to Preeth's review. AMAZING. We ordered in, so my comments are SOLELY about the food. I've neverrrr everrr had a chicken kebab that reappeared in my dreams on the same night, and drooling for more the very next day. I can't wait to order again.
I didn't try anything else but planning on it. I want to try this baklava that's being raved about. I'm drooling just thinking about it again! Ah!
We are regulars here. The food here is delicious! In my opinion, the flavors are better in their chicken salads and entrees compared to the chicken wraps which are also decent. Don't leave without trying the Kunefe – YUM!!!
Also, a heads up that the wraps are really wraps and not pita.
Portion sizes are good for the price and they give just the right amount of meat! 🙂
