I frequent Kessler's because I live across the street but overall, their prices are very high and their selection of alcohol isn't the best (i.e. they were out of the large Kettel when I went the first time, and out of Kettel altogether on my second trip). That being said, they have a pretty good wine selection and the guys that work there are really nice.
Decent little liquor store a few steps from where I work. Great in a pinch to pick up a bottle when needed for a party or present. Or to just get drunk!
Nice guys work here, and pretty knowledgeable too. Bargain bottles also on sale here. All the standard liquors and mixes as with most shops like this.
And hey, they do carry boxed wine if that is more your speed or bankroll. Pete D, our Yelp ambassador, picked it up here for a past Yelp event. If it is good enough for Pete D, it is good enough for me!
Fact: You can't have a party bus without a good box of wine. In this instance, by "good," I mean "the cheapest one you can find."
Every other liquor store I went to either (1) thinks they are too good for boxed wine* or (2) carries boxed wine that is too good for me. I'm not going to pay $40 for a box of wine. That would be the equivalent of almost $9 a bottle. What am I, a billionaire?
Either way, Kessler can cover all your boxed wine needs, and the guy behind the counter might be legitimately excited that you're buying two boxes, and run over to show you how to pull out the cardboard handle to carry them.
Thank you sir, but I got it. This isn't my first box. __________
*Nobody is too good for boxed wine. Except maybe Nelson Mandela. But I bet he'd still drink it with you. He probably slapped the bag a few times in his day.
The place has enough variety when it comes to liquor for you to be able to make a good selection. They mainly focus on wines (keep that in mind) so of you're looking for beer this might not be the best place for you to go to. People there are friendly and nice and can make good suggestions if you need any help with your selection. They often have tastings, which is great, and offer delivery via Drizzly app, also a plus.
