  1. I rarely am in the mood for cheap, greasy, American Chinese food… But when I get the craving I expect places like this to deliver a consistent quality.

All I can say is that I was not impressed. The fried imitation crabsticks were limp, the house special fried rice was not very special and it was on the pricey side for what we ordered.

  2. This is 4 stars for tasty American Chinese food (not authentic chinese food but awesome for what it is!). We ordered shredded pork with scallions (the winner! Has a nice kick of spice but not overly spicy and not greasy). We also got ginger chicken with these delicious small tasty black mushrooms: also a winner and delicious and not greasy. Ok the eggplant was more greasy (obviously) since it's fried but very well cooked and the sauce was memorable and tasty. If you spend more than $20 there's a coupon on the menu for a free cold noodle which we got (delicious cold sesame noodle, yum!). We also got a large wonton soup which was tasty with a homemade broth.

  3. This place does General Tsao's and dumplings really well. I hear they're lo mein is really good too. My only complaint is that I don't really like their sweet and sour pork so much.

  4. they did very good with my NYC egg rolls.

  5. Not as good as my other default crappy Chinese take out place (Wong's on 1st between 64 and 65). I had some very crap take out Kung Pao chicken here, but for very cheap (cheaper than Wong's). Had Kung Pao's small portion for $5.70, which includes white rice. I don't think you can change it up for brown, like you can at Wong's. Wong's dinner combo always has more variety- letting you CHOOSE egg roll, soup and which kind of fried rice. This place just has an egg roll and pork fried rice… plus Kung Pao (what real Chinese people like) wasn't on the dinner combo list. I'd say this place is pretty geared to what Americans like Chinese food for- the chicken and broccoli, and the sweet and sour chicken.

Service is fast. Place is clean and (bigger) than Wong's; I noted they have home made iced tea for $1.  I'd probably venture back, maybe, if I was in the area but a lot of the fast dining around here (e.g. hampton chutney, which I love) isn't as cheap.
