It's a new spot. Staffs are friendly but under trained. Pork chops are awesome. Read about inconsistency on quality, but mine turned out well. Overall a good experience.
Kingza is another new addition to the One Fulton Square facility featuring a bunch of really restaurants and now they have the Japanese fried goodness of katsu!
While there is Iki, another Japanese restaurant close by, Kingza specializes in one thing, katsu and they do it well. You can't really go wrong with fried pork…well unless you're vegetarian. Kingza follows the trend of restaurants when you order by writing it down. Either you like it or you hate it when comes to this type of ordering and personally, I'm okay with it since it cuts down on inefficiencies. You can choose of different types of katsu such as the cuts of pork, protein options, and addition of rolls. They all come in combos with your choice of rice (white or purple) and miso soup (traditonal or special of the day). For $3 extra you can get a drink and dessert.
I got the pork tenderloin with vegetable rolls and for about $15, you get a filling portion.The rice and cabbage salad is all you can eat which is great. The katsu had a light crunchy exterior and aided with the yuzu sauce gave a bright flavor to the pork. The vegetable rolls were fine but they didn't really add much to the dish.
Kingza shares the space with a bakery called Bakery Code and bubble tea chain, Chattime. It's pretty spacious with booths and table seating. There's not much in terms of service but every time someone enters, all the wait staff greets you by saying welcome in Japanese…which got annoying after a while. Also you have to pay at the front which again either you'll like or don't since they're not even providing much in the service department.
Either way, I still enjoyed eating at Kingza and the food was quite delicious so I'm bound to be back in the near future.

3 stars because the food is average. I ordered #1 since it is most likely their signature dish. It was alright. They had the set up and choices but it wasn't mind blowing.
5 stars for service. I was very impressed at the servers. They were all trained well with their little speech while introducing the dishes (no tongue twist that I heard) and how to communicate with customers. When I paid my bill, they gave me a take-out menu, which I collect since I live in the area and becomes very useful, which is a great sale for them. I thought they nailed the service, especially in Flushing.
Will I make a trip or recommend it? most likely not. Will I come back? Yes if a friend wants to try it while we are in the area.
