Kinship Coffee Cooperative
“Despite being from the land of Stumptown, I hardly ever crave caffeine and or seek the time killing experience of a cafe.”
“They've recently added other juices, kombucha, cold brew, etc and parfaits to go in addition to their pastries.”
“Of the local coffee venues, Kinship is one of two that serve great coffee (the other being the Queens Kickshaw).”

Location: If you are at Queens comfort for lunch/ dinner, you may also wanna hit this place up! The place is very unique: they embrace artists – they allow artists to put their art work at their store. So for me, when I first stepped into the place, I wanna seat down for enjoy a cozy environment at Queens.
Food: they have great selections of bakeries- both croissant wise and donut wise.
If you are a stumptom coffee bean fan, this place is a great place for strong coffee lover.
To me who hate stumptom, I love they way they brew and make their coffee. The coffee is textured well enough that you wanna to have another one
The place is local people's fav spot. People who work here take times with people and enjoy a little chat with random people.
The environment is too cozy to be believed
4 star
Came in with a friend and had iced latte and dulce de leche donut. I didn't have the iced latte but the dulce de leche donut was slammin. Not enough space though, but I can't expect much from places like this. But I thoroughly enjoyed this spot. Extremely friendly staff and accomodating.
Really good coffee. This place is next to the bus stop where I catch my bus. If I have a few minute I'll usually go grab a coffee. Credit card minimum of $5 but they have been nice about letting me charge it especially when I forgot to bring cash. Good coffee but their cheese and scallion scone are to die for! I have never had one and was intrigued by it. Usually I am not a scallion girl but this scone was so delicious that I don't even care. Cheesy, moist on the inside, crispy on the outside. I can have one everyday if only my wallet will let me. $2.75 which I feel like is well worth the price. Definitely get one if you are in here and I promise you won't regret it.
Also the service is excellent. Everyone has been really nice in here.
Great left coast beans here. Maple cold brew was strong, made individually, and perfectly not too sweet. Cute store overall.
Good coffee is rapidly turning up in Queens. Opened in 2014 by local residents, Kinship is a bright, welcoming coffee shop with a full floor to ceiling glass storefront on Steinway, an old-fashioned marquee sign declaring its trade. Inside, the soothing space features furniture with the look of reclaimed wood, contrasting against white metal French cafe stools. Their space is truly set apart and beautifully accented by funky, modern artwork and light fixtures.
The coffee menu is concise, with drip coffee, cold brew, and expresso drinks. Roasted beans from Stumptown are their mainstay, with other beans featured. They make a lovely cappuccino, smooth, creamy, and tasty. An assortment of fresh pastries, including doughnuts from Dough, can keep that coffee company.
The friendly staff, well-designed space, and excellent coffee makes Kinship Coffee an oasis on Steinway anytime.
Love my little coffee shop on the corner. The baristas are lovely with a keen eye to detail. The cold brew is some of the best I've had in the city and the price isn't over the top. If you have a chance – and you love maple syrup – then ask for the cold brew maple syrup mix drink they've concocted. It's simply amazing.
The best thing about this shop is its in Queens! Definitely has a bit of a Brooklyn aesthetic but in a much better burrough. Of all the new shops off 30th avenue Kinship is my go to.
To be in love is to wander through a pitch black forest with open eyes. To navigate helplessly, knowing you have no real way of controlling the journey, but to attempt to do so anyway.
Kinship Coffee is a kind of version of this. Despite the coffee here being far, far inferior to that which is pulled at the nearby Gossip Coffee, the place is cool, the Dough donuts are amazingly delicious, and the people working here are awesome.
This is a glad place. I mean, when it comes to coffee this spot is like a 3 star, maybe even 2, but the scene, the baristas, and the Dough donuts definitely pull this up to a four. I don't know if I will be back here much, but I am glad I found myself here at least once.
This review is for everyone who likes caramel lattes and what coffee snobs deem to be 'not real' coffee:
I had the macchiato and found it to be extremely bitter. I like espresso, but this was soooo sour that I had to dump simple syrup in just so it was ingestible. Also, because this is a 'real' coffee place and I got an espresso without anything else (really? No milk?) my cup was teeny tiny and it was $3.25. I swear I was having heart palpitations at 9pm from this.
Anyway, go ahead, coffee douche's, blast me to hell for going into this blind and not liking what I was served.
