It's exciting to see a Manhattan location of Kith Treats, which was previously much less accessible in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn and only worth going out of your way for if you were going to Emily for dinner nearby.
Now, it's in a huge corner space on Broadway, with a separate entrance for the Treats portion and a side entrance if you are there just for the shoes.
The menu here is improved a bit, as they now provide some "Signature Specials", which are combos that take the paralysis of choice out of your hands and let you order much more easily. You can still fill out a menu with all of the different cereal options to make your own creation, but the preset choices are great for the indecisive. Also, they now allow you to make any of the combos into either a "Cereal Box Set" ($7.25), an "Ice Cream Swirl" ($6.25) or a Milkshake ($7.75).
I need to return to try one of the milkshakes, of which there are 6 separate specials for $7 each, such as a very intriguing sounding "Coffee Crunch" (La Colombe Coffee, Crushed Coffee Ice, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Twix), but among the other two options, the ice cream is the definite winner. Most argue that the cereal box set is a foolish waste of money, because you can just buy all of the ingredients yourself at the grocery store for a fraction of the price, but the ice cream is not a do-it-yourself operation, as they have one of those ice cream drill machines similar to the one that makes a McFlurry, producing an effect that is hard to reproduce yourself and that is a delicious result with all of those sweet mix-ins.
It's really close to lots of other great ice cream options unfortunately (OddFellows, Morgenstern's, Little Cupcake Bakeshop all within walking distance), which makes it harder to decide now, but it's definitely a welcome addition to Manhattan for a satisfying dessert.
