  1. What a hidden gem! As the other reviewers said, this place has great quality food – especially the ceviche (fresh fresh fresh)! The prices are also very reasonable.

It's a solid place for a casual meal, with much less fanfare than some of the other local Peruvian places. The service was very nice, although it could be more professional (it seemed like family members/teens). However, you can tell the heart that was put into the cooking, along with the presentation. For me, this wins out over places like Pio Riko, which sometimes feels like they are trying to get people in and out.

The only thing is that they don't serve alcohol (i would have loved some sangria) and I'm not sure if it is BYOB. Otherwise, this is some great Peruvian food!

  2. Pesto pasta and steak. Use the green hot sauce. God this was good. Very sweet non English speaking waitress who enjoyed watching me scarf this down. I was the only person there at 2pm and was s little apprehensive but Yelp didn't let me down.

  3. Great food – the ceviche was delicious as everyone else raves about. More so because it was a very large plate ! we also ordered a side of chicharones which may not have been on the menu but deliciously crispy.

The platters were great and plentiful. I got the skirt steak and had a lot left over. The service is friendly but a bit slower. Not a bad thing if you're enjoying your meal.

I called ahead to make a resv for a large group and it wasn't an issue – even after I had to push it back.

They allowed a cake and helped with the celebration.

  4. I walked in at 4:25pm on a sunday afternoon. I wanted to give this place another chance as i was here early in the week. I had lunch and now i wanted to try dinner service.  When i sat down, once again i noticed a young lady waiting on tables.  As soon as i sat down  I noticed in the back of the restaurant a table with a small crowd of 4 guys, they were eating, drinking  and having a good time so much so they were very loud, disruptive and an hour later it was more like 6 guys that in my opinion had too much to drink.
I was there with my family so i try to not let it bother me.  We order ceviche mixto, which lacked consistency. When ordering )the waitress asked me how spicy i wanted. I was just here like 4 days ago and the waitress never asked me that question when i ordered it. I simply explained to make the ceviche without any heat and to give me hot sauce on the side. The last time the ceviche was served with slices of sweet potato, this time it was just regular potato.  Yuca frita to accompany my ceviche was at best warm and did not taste fresh. I asked for the chicken soup with cilantro, when the bowl was presented i could see that the corn, peas and carrots used were the frozen type. I was under the assumption their food is freshly made.  The soup had nice flavor it had a nice dice of chicken gizzards but the frozen veggies were a  turn off. The soup should have had in the description that it contains chicken gizzard. I dont mind chicken gizzard but that should be part of the description.   For main course i had a green spaghetti (cilantro flavor pasta)  with steak. The pasta was very tasty, had good flavor and plenty of parmesan cheese but the steak was so thin that they had over cooked it and it was bit tough.  The Bandeja tipica was good, although food temperature was an issue since the steak and the chicharron were just warm.  Their famous green sauce was also not consistent. Last time i had it, i could taste the cilantro but this time the sauce had much more dairy in it and less cilantro. The beans tasted like can beans.  On my first visit to this restaurant i observed 1 waitress for the lunch service and it seemed like she was the person cooking too. This time i could tell there was someone in the kitchen cooking but that does not explain why i had to wait 35 minutes for food. I experienced the same wait during lunch. With that said i will stick to eating peruvian at  Chimu, where service is consistent, plenty of food choices on the menu and they have a liquor license.

  5. Not a bad place.  Got take out and it was OK.

Big portion and good price. Food was average though.

    Steak we overcooked and rubbery.

Chicken was cooked well but the dry rub wasn't my fav.

    Sausage was great.

Chichicaron was a bit tough and chewy.

Green sauce here was probably my least favorite of every chicken place in Sunnyside

Riko is still my go to
