  1. So the jumbo slice is very big…but kinda meh.  It was a good/decent slice, but I don't think I will be back.

  2. HOLY COW! the jumbo slice is HUGE! one slice will keep you full for about half the day. it is cash only so make sure you have cash unless you want to use there ATM machine inside.

  3. The pictures are accurate – these slices are the size of an entire pizza [though shaped as a slice].  Great deal at $3 or $4 a slice for cheese or pepperoni.  Not gourmet, obviously, but excellent quick stop to 'fill up the tank' and move on.

Was introduced to this place by a firefighter who used to work out of a station not far from here.  This is his go-to.  Good stuff!

  4. Sorry, but it's now KoroNOT's for me. There's always an issue here at this place famous for its huge pizza slices. (A "small/regular" slice is already crazy, and the jumbo is like two of my heads.) Last time it was too much grease. This time, it was a 15-minute wait for a single slice. Several customers behind me grew disgusted and just left. One of the people behind the counter, sensing discontent of a customer in front of me, began to mock him!

Once you get past the "big slice" gimmick, there's not much there unless you're obsessed with value and want to get the most square inches of pizza for the least amount of dollars. Sorry, but that obsession is better spent elsewhere. I won't be coming back.

  5. I finally decided to try this place after seeing all the pictures. I tried the jumbo slice cheese pizza. It was exactly as I thought it would be. It was huge and actually tasted pretty good. Price is decent to at $4.50 for no topping cheese jumbo slice.

  6. Come hungry to Koronet for a nearly comically large and inexpensive slice of pizza. I assumed that the pizza was only good for its size and not so much on taste, but I was wrong. This is a pretty decent no-frills pizza place. I'm no NY pizza expert, or pizza expert at all, but I thought it was good – salty, cheesy, crunchy, and greasy.

    Small Cheese Slice ($3)
    Jumbo Cheese Slice ($4.50)
    Sicilian Cheese Slice ($3)
Toppings are $1 each. So while it is very cheap on its own, toppings can quickly add to the price.

The size of it combined with a thin crust makes a floppy pizza. Yet the crust has a nice crunch once they toast it. It is light on the sauce and entirely covered in cheese. I'm pretty happy with the cheese because when you bite it, it comes clean, and doesn't pull away from the crust. It would be nice if the cheese was more gooey.

A small is already twice the size of one of their paper plates. A jumbo can easily be shared between two people.
Working here must be one heck of a workout. Rolling out all that dough to a thin consistency on those giant pizza stones is no small task.
Since the pizzas are pre-made and toppings are added to slices before being reheated, the toppings don't stick to the pizza very well.

The Sicilian – super thick crust with crunchy base in a square shape. It wasn't bad, but it was a little bit like dense focaccia. Since the slice is so large, it did give my jaw a workout. The cheese didn't stick as well to this crust.

I guess the pizza is meant to be eaten on the spot, as it doesn't travel well. They tend to put the slices on a paper plate and place the plate inside a paper bag instead of a box. The grease spreads through the bag easily. It would be nice if they put slices inside boxes, considering each slice is the size of a personal sized pizza. It would also be nice if they did accepted cards. Is it just me or does NYC have a ton of cash only establishments?

  7. epic. obviously not the best ingredients but so fun after a night at the heights. ask them to cut for a friend and you!

  8. As a Columbia student, I heard about this place from the minute I moved to the area. I was told the slices are enormous, but you don't know what you're getting yourself into until they hand it to you. I would say its about the size of two LARGE regular slices from other pizzerias in the city, and for only $4.50 its a cheap lunch or dinner where you'll definitely be full afterwards. I think toppings are another $1.50 too. The crust is a bit thicker than I normally like, but it makes sense since it is so huge.
