“The place stocks a few American brews as well, but if you go to a bar named EuroTrip be bold and try something new.”

  1. I was very apprehensive when I saw the big "B" posted in the window, but we were getting drinks and apps, so I took the risk.

Atmosphere: large dining room in the back, bar and communal table with open doors in the front. The host was so warm and helpful considering my husband's allergies.

Food/drink: unique beer, both imported and local, are a draw. We shared the pickled veggie plate- huge mix of vegetables decently pickled with a red pepper feta and pita. The salad was delicious, the play on textured especially nice- toasted chick peas, gooey poached egg, crisp and softer lettuces, and vegetables. The mushroom pierogies were a little greasy and not too plump, but still yummy.

Although I was afraid of the health rating, I'm glad I took the risk. Besides, I made it to the day after!

  2. I want to like this more.  I think I need to give it a second chance.  The service as just meh, but we did go at like 3pm on a Friday.  We both got the burgers, which were good…. not heavy like I thought they would be.  Their quality of beef was good.  I just felt our meal was too expensive for what we got and the overall experience.  Next time I have a craving for Polish food, I'll go back and try the pierogi.

The interior was much more large and fancy than I would have expected also.  Lots of people watching the soccer game up front, no man's land back where we sat.

  3. If the word Burgasm existed then this burger would be used to describe it.
The interior is large with a lot of space for seating, and the service was excellent.
They have an extensive beer list, and a few great cocktails to choose from.
    The food:
-Mussels were delicious, flavorful and large portion.
-Pork belly was juicy and tender
-The Korzo Burger was ridiculously flavorful and one of the juiciest burgers I have ever had. The dough to burger ratio was perfect, and the the bacon was perfectly crisp. They also had numerous types to choose from.

Overall great experience, great food and great drinks

  4. I've biked thru 5th ave tons of times and never noticed this restaurant, until a gf suggested having dinner here on a Wed evening, spotted some locals at the bar, I chose to sit in the front of the restaurant where there's two large communal like wooden table and bench so i can keep an eye on my bike,  each table can comfortably seat 4 people and possibly 5 or 6, I asked to sample the bronx summer ale and draft of the week, summer session, decided on summer session, for starters, we had turnip squash pirogi w wild mushroom filling and aged asiago, it was beyond delicious, the skin was perfectly tender and gummy, w a kick of sliced scallion and shredded beets. I have to admit I like it better than my entree! both gf and I opted for burgers, I had original w fries and she had slav w salad and we swapped half of ours! I like the burger but not overwhelmed by it, it compliments neutrally w the beet sauce! service is low key and friendly, I'd def go back and try more items on the menu! I'd try to sit in the back next time as the front bench chair was not the most comfortable seating.

  5. Such a cute little spot in Brooklyn. You can sit at the bar or in the room in the back. My friend and I waited at the bar for a table, and stared, drooling at the delicious menu.  She is a vegetarian, and there were many yummy options to choose from.  We chose the turnip-squash pirogi with cheese as an appetizer. It was excellent.  You could really taste the turnip, a nice unique flavor, opposed to just tasting the filling.. I choose the potato latkes with wild mushroom creme fresh as my main dish. It was 3 giant pancakes with a ton of fresh mushrooms. It was amazing.  She ordered the Bklyn beet sandwich. A nice spin on a veggy burger. Dense, thick, different….tasty and delicious.  We over-ordered, and were stuffed, although we shared everything.. It was super heavy and filling but we had to try a dessert. The waiter recommended Marias Kreme's which was a custard pastry. Not too sweet, just perfect!
Only negative was they had no decaf coffee. But they do have herbal tea!  It was a really nice night, night atmosphere and perfect food for a cold winter day.

  6. Went here with a friend to specifically try the Korzo burger, because I couldn't resist the lure of a deep fried burger. It's also not as crazy as it sounds. The Original burger comes with a thick beef patty, bacon, cheese, mustard, and pickles. It's wrapped in a flatbread/pita-like dough and fried.

Needless to say, the burger is fantastic. Love the chewyness of the fried dough "bun", which gives an added texture and also helps hold everything together. It helps keep the burger juicy, the cheese melty, and the drippy toppings stay in place (okay, not really, but still does a better job than a regular bun).

Also worth a mention is the beet ketchup, which definitely elevates the fries/chips that come with the burger. Service is very friendly and prompt. Definitely a burger worth trying and rightfully in many top burger lists.

  7. On New Year's Eve 2010, Korzo hosted an event that involved unlimited beer and a plate of food for $35 or so. Snowed in and unable to get to a party elsewhere in these pre-Uber days, my roommates and I walked the two blocks to Korzo.

That night ended with me destroying an island and vomiting in a sinkful of dishes.

We all can't stay that young forever, and eventually life took me north to Williamsburg and away from Korzo. But after a bowling party in Sunset Park, I grabbed a few friends and went to see how the old bird was aging.

The answer is pretty well. Those famous fried burgers are still here, still able to catch all of the wonderful juices of meat. along with the flavor of the cheese (and bacon and mustard) wrapped inside. It's not as heavy as it might seem, as the relatively thinness of the dough compensates for the way it is prepared.

The mania this restaurant (and its now-dead East Village spin-off Korzo Haus) have for beet ketchup has now died down. Regular ketchup and barbecue sauce are now available, along with the beet stuff for those are interested.

Things are a bit more upscale, with the menu divided into "firsts" and "seconds" – along with a whole variety of different fried burgers. And while some favorites are gone – where are all those Hungarian breads? And didn't this place used to make great spaetzle – there's still plenty of variety, both Hungarian, Sloakvian and more American.

So if I lived in the neighborhood, this would still be very much in rotation. And if they have regular ketchup on the menu, I will still make it down here form time to time.

  8. My family and I love the brunch here. I am a big fan of the stone-ground flour pancake and their fries which are mixed red and sweet potatoes. I have tried their fried flatbread with Nutella- it was good also, but a little too sweet for me after a few bites. Cool vibes here overall with a really nice staff. We will be back 🙂
