What an awesome experience!!!
Debated in heart if I should post a review on Yelp – on one side, I think more people should know this great place; On the other side, I don't want more people start to notice here, so I can book easily next time…
As I read online that George from Bouley and Chef Nico from Daniel started this new restaurant. Since I have been to the two restaurants before and love them, I decide to give this place a try. I booked a weekday dinner for a group of 4 on Opentable about 5 days prior. Can't believe this place is this easy to book, which I guess is due to this is still a new restaurant with a few reviews (but as you can see, all reviews giving this place a 5-star). After visiting, I think 30-day booking in advance is the fair time amount – especially given it is a small restaurant with 8 or 0 tables only.
Let's get back to the core things here – service and food. Extraordinary service. We felt we were been taken good care of during the 3-hour dinner time. Waiters and waitresses welcomed us warmly, explained the menu to us clearly, introduced each course with passion… the service is definitely comparable with all Michelin star restaurants I've been to in the city.
Food is also great. They offer tasting menu – you get everything in appetizer and dessert section and all you need is picking how many main courses you want – from 1 to 3, price at $105, $125, and $145 respectively, wine paring $75. We chose all three main courses (cod, duck, and rabbit) and shared. We love the duck one most. The food amount if more than enough – I think we got 13 or 14 dishes in total, including some extra free little bites brought by Chef Nico.
In the end, we said hello to Chef Nico and his fellows and we took a group photo in the kitchen! Nico and his fellows are very nice people and they look passionate about what they are doing. I know they change menu frequently. We really this dining experience and will definitely come back!
