  1. I'm a tough critic when it comes to pizza. My husband and I visited this spot for a quick slice of pizza in between meals. I wanted a slice of pepperoni pizza, so the worker decided to add pepperoni to a pre-made cheese pizza and warm it in the oven. Unfortunately, it didn't taste great. Pepperoni needs to be cooked in with the pizza in order to get the flavors to all blend well. I didn't love it. The pizza was also really sloppy.

On the other hand, I had a few bites of the sausage and mushroom pizza, and it was a lot better. It held together pretty well and a nice taste was there. It was a good enough slice of pizza to make me content, but it still wasn't anything to write home about.

I doubt I'd go back unless I didn't have the option to get pizza from anywhere else, and in NY, a lot of grabbing a quick bite has to do with the location that you're in, along with the convenience of getting to what you want.

  2. Another one we get at the office, pretty good, nothing really that makes it stand out.

  3. La Bellezza is one of my favorite lunch spots!

They have the best chicken parms. They are so big that I usually can't finish the whole thing in one sitting. The restaurant layout is quite confusing though – the order area is split into 2 sections based on what you want to eat. After you order, you pay at the cashier and listen for your order. However, you don't get an order number so you listen for what you ordered..which can get confusing as a lot of people order chicken parms. You just have to pay attention.

  4. I love visiting La Bellezza because the staff is super friendly, they are super quick and the food is always consistent. I use them for lunch for my team and, although I have not eaten the food, everyone loves the pizza (when hot and fresh) and the chicken parm sandwiches. I recommend ordering ahead of time for lunch (call it in) and pick it up. The place gets so crowded and is so tiny that mid-day during the week is a squeeze! I prefer to run in and pick up. Delivery is also quick, but I my office is super close so may not be the most representative example.

  5. Im not sure why this is good pizza. I couldn't even eat a whole piece. Maybe I went on an off day or the pizza was sitting there a while.

I had 2 different slices both variations of pepperoni. It was very greasy, which is ok for pizza ya know, but to me I would only eat here again if I was intoxicated.

The people were friendly in there though !

  6. This is the spot my wife and I chose for our obligatory "slice of NYC" pizza on our first visit to NYC. It was across the street from our hotel (The NYC Marriott East Side) and the reviews looked decent so we gave it a shot.

Overall I was pleased. They have a great selection of pies with slices ready to go and sandwiches made to order. The price was great and the ingredients were quality. They use real pieces of home-made style sausage, not that commercial junk you see a lot of other places use. I was impressed.

  7. Located in Midtown East in this tiny little space that can barely hold 10 people standing.  We went for a weekday lunch and the place was hot–both figuratively and literally.  It was a popular place for business people on their lunch break.  The service is quick and courteous.  We got three slices of pizza and a bottle of soda for $14.25.  Not bad for this area.  The pizzas were delicious with a nice, crisp crust.  They were not too saucy and had a good amount of toppings.

The place doesn't seem to be air conditioned and considering how small the front counter space is, it's not a great place to meet friends or dine in, unless you are alone.  Also, with it being Midtown East, it doesn't stay open very late.  If you are looking for no frills pizza in this area, definitely give it a try.

  8. Finally tried their Chicken Parm (nobody says parmesan, just parm), and man, I know why literally half the people order this sandwich.  It is GOOD.  I think overall it's still a 4-star based on the whole of the food here – I've tried pizza, calzone, & this – but a high 4-star, like 4.4 stars.  And, I just can't figure out how they keep the sequence of the 12 people that ordered the same thing.  They somehow know who gets the next chicken parm.  Amazing.
