I love the food at La Bottega. The salads are great. They give you bread with olive oil. This location is nice sized and plenty of places to sit. It is also near the cute village of Roslyn.
Despite being an Italian place, their pasta honestly sucks.
Bottega is good for very awesome and satisfying salads and decent paninis.
The pizza is pretty good too.
But I wouldn't touch any of their overpriced pastas again.
Loving La Bottega!
I was traveling out to Roslyn for the day and was looking for a nice sit-down place to eat with a casual atmosphere. And with good food/prices of course. We were eating a bit later in the afternoon so we hoped we would find a place that was still serving. And voila! We found La Bottega.
Very rustic, Italian eatery with hardwood floors and a warm ambiance. We sat down and they bring you fresh bread served with EVOO (as Rachel Ray would say) which was the perfect accompaniment. The menu is pretty large. They have tons of variations on something as simple as the panini. They also had salads, pizza, pasta, desserts, (gelato!), etc. I decided on the Chicken Panini — Savona. This was grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella, tomato and roasted garlic aioli on ciabatta. It was delicious. The bread was very crunchy and everything was pressed so the cheese just melted in your mouth. I have to say… it's a pretty hearty sandwich so I ended up only eating one half and taking the other home (which I then ate for dinner.) All for $8.75!
The service was great and the staff very friendly. I can't wait to come back and explore some more of the menu!
I really like this place. I've been a few times, love the specialty slices and paninis. I've had the steak, getting the pork one now but I know I will not be disappointed. The prosciutto slice is great too. I would recommend it for lunch to anybody.
Wowzer, this place was crowded on a Saturday night. For a group of 4, we were told it would be 20 minutes. We didn't have the time to spare, so we decided to do take out, which was surprisingly quick. It was ready in under 20 minutes!
The food was surprisingly good and traveled well.
I got the Salmon salad with guacamole, phenomenal! And such a large piece of Salmon. The dressing and Guac came in containers on the side, without me asking! The dressing itself was weird, but since we went back to a house, I had options.
The outdoor seating here is very quaint and the decor inside makes this place seem more high end than it is, in a good way, like you would think the food is more expensive than it is.
Side Bar: What's up with this town? how come so many places do Valet parking, a little to noses up for me, but that's not against La Bottega.
I'm disappointed that my first review, after years of using Yelp, is on this place.
First of, I went there yesterday with a friend right around 5:30pm. So it's right before dinner so there were about two group of family seated.
Service took forever! It took a worker 30 minutes to take our order. Why? Cause they were all huddled behind the kitchen/cash register joking around and talking with each other.
My friend just decided to go straight for the dessert and ordered the tiramisu and iced coffee. I decided to get the croton panini (grilled turkey, onion, mushroom, and cheese). That night I had the worse food poisoning ever. I couldn't finish the panini and took the other half home.
My mom was wondering what was wrong with me and I told her I ate a panini. She looked at the other half I brought home and told me the mushrooms were rotting. How did I fail not to notice this at the restaurant? Cause I was probably starving from not eating anything since 10am.
Overall, only locals seem to go to this place (a few more people showed up after we were done and they got served right away), horrible service, and avoid any vegetables cause they obviously don't know what 'fresh' is supposed to smell or look like.
i've always go here for lunch because they have really amazing salads and panini's here. it's so reasonably priced too. the only thing negative about this place is that their service is sooooo slow. it's takes forever for them to bring your food and it takes forever to pay for your bill.
Came here for lunch on a rainy Saturday around 1:30pm. Luckily for us we seemed to have just missed the brunch crowd, so getting a table was no problem.
I had the salmon & guac salad (Roasted salmon, mixed greens, guacamole, hearts of palm and toasted sunflower seeds with honey dijon dressing) and it exceeded my expectations. The fish was fresh, guac tasted fresh too and seemed to be homemade, and the portion was more than plentiful.
My friend had a chicken panini which she seemed to enjoy.
No major complaints; the waitstaff is attentive and pleasant… there's simply nothing to write home about.
Minor things they could improve on:
– booze selection (beer & wine only)
– bathroom situation (it's 1 small unisex closet)
In the end it's a nicer alternative to a deli or diner. The food is good, the prices are fair, and place is clean.
