Holy crap, I think I died and went to rainbow bar heaven!  A friend of mine brought over two rainbow bars for dessert.  I've never heard of them before, but I've had rainbow cookies which were so so.  Or maybe the rainbow cookies I've had in the past weren't made properly.  I wasn't expecting much from these rainbow bars, but holy freaken crap, these rainbow bars were freaken amazing as heck!!!!

The outside layer is chocolate and inside is the rainbow cookie/cake.  The two compliment each other so freaken well.  Shiet.  I wanted to die.  I wanted to eat the whole thing myself, but I had to stop myself or else my friends would glare at me for not sharing haha!  The rainbow cookie + cake part was so moist.  The chocolate was so good.

I like dessert, but it's not something that I always eat and it's not something that I love or is a must for me.  The last dessert place that made me go this crazy was after I discovered Eileen's Cheesecake and that was freaken several years ago!  I highly recommend the rainbow bars.  I've also heard good things about their cheesecake, but I am super duper picky with my cheesecake since I like the light, airy, fluffy Eileen's Cheesecake so I'll need to go back here to try them and update my review.  My 5 star review here is for the rainbow bar only.

I'll definitely be back!   It's a shame they are in Queens and I live in Brooklyn =(  I guess better for my wallet and waist =P   Try it.  You won't regret it.

If you happen to be around the College Point area and are in the lookout for a soft, pillowy, lighter-than-air cheesecake – then you have come to the right place! (Just make sure you have cash, they don't take credit cards.) I ordered a plain cheesecake on the spot and they happened to have one sitting on a cooling rack not too far away from the counter. This shop has been around for quite awhile, so you better believe everything is basically homemade!
The display in front upon entering the front door was quite attractive as well, especially those chocolate cannoli, which is next on the list!

Hands down best cheesecakes around.. They have a decent selection of cheesecakes.. My favorite one is the Oreo cheesecake. The chocolate covered rainbow cookie is by far the best I've had.  Everything made fresh daily.  If you come on holidays make sure you arrive early the line is crazy.

Pursuant to a review by one of the most trusted names in the world of Yelp, Daphne M., I embarked on a journey to discover a new place in College Point. Frankly, when I looked at the address, I thought that I would be kidnapped and/or shot immediately upon exiting my vehicle. I am glad that I survived to tell the tale.

Desserts are all this place really sells. Before I say anything, I'd like to recommend just one item: the Pecan Square. Forget that the name of this place has the word Cheesecake in it! The Pecan Square is what's really amazing here, folks. I came to buy a whole Oreo Cheesecake, one of each of the baby cheesecakes, one of each flavor cannoli, two rainbow bars, and a Pecan Square. The thing that amazed me most was the Pecan Square. Sure, the cheesecake is quite fluffy and light enough to have all on your own, but the Pecan Square, man! Get it! The rainbow bar was a bit too sweet for me, but the cannoli was a perfect combination of crunchy outside and creamy inside.

The elephant in the room is that this place is not open from Mondays through Wednesdays. This creates an aura of what is essentially manufactured scarcity. Of course this place appears popular – everyone and their mother can only get it Thursdays through Sundays during certain hours. The appearance of scarcity is part of this bakery's allure, though.

My photography skills aren't the best (not everyone can be Lori L. or Elsie W., you know!) but the signs on the interior wall were creative and funny.

Tip: try not to have too many of these desserts before bedtime. I totally had a sugar high during bedtime! Insomnia ensued!

La Cheesecake is a College Point institution, it has been around for 30 years and it really does produce quality products at very reasonable prices. The location is off the beaten path and it's mostly a local's spot, unless you drive. I came to pickup a few items for a friend that works in the area and I was very pleased with the items I had purchased. Inside is just a to go counter, but there are these giant ovens in the back, it's nice that everything is made in house, kinda sick of all the mass produced products out there.

    The food:

Plain Cheesecake- I guess I should start with this item. I thought the cheesecake was really nice. it was smooth, light, airy and fluffy. I also like the fact that it wasn't too sweet. My only criticism would be that I thought the filling was a tad grainy, but overall a very nice cheesecake.

Chocolate Chip Pecan Square- I thought this was very good, it had awesome crunch on the bottom and had a nice pecan texture, I did find the square to be too sweet, a glass of milk woulda been perfect. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Crumb Cake- My first bite, I thought it was a tad boring. The more I ate, the more I really liked it. The yellow cake bottom was made really well, it was light, fluffy and moist, the top crumb texture was nicely crunchy. It was basically a really well made coffee cake with powdered sugar on top. It would go great with a cup of coffee. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Rainbow Bar- This is one of their top items and it was pretty good. I did think it was supposed to be like a Rainbow Cookie, but rather it was more like a soft rainbow cake. It has a outer chocolate layer followed buy a rainbow colored center with a fruit filling. The bites should be cut as a whole cross section so you can get all the flavors in one bite.

Apple Crumb Tart- I thought this was good, it had very nice crunchy top but I was so so about the filling. The filling to me was too Mcd's apple pie like. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Cannoli- It was a good cannoli, the filling had nice texture and a good mouth feel. The shell was nice and crunchy.

Red Velvet Cupcake- It was a good cupcake, it was moist and was not too sweet. I am a fan.

LOVE THIS PLACE. I always make a trip here when I come home, and it's a place I've been going to since I was little. This place make perfectly fluffy cheesecake without graham cracker crusts (personally it's not my thing so I love these cakes) and delicious rainbow bars (basically a rainbow cookie before it is cut.) I can't say enough good things about this place!!!

After moving to College Point a year ago and passing this little gem (looks like a random hole-in-the-wall) bakery on 14th Avenue, it has become one of our frequent stops on the way home.  Their miniature pecan pies are scrumptious and mouthwatering, be prepared to buy two because you will not want to share with even your spouse!  Their cupcakes are light and delightful as well, frosting is fluffy and not overly sweet.  Their fudgy, frosted brownies are delicious.  Their canolis are pleasant as well, especially when you get them the same day they are made! Their cream puffs and light, airy and you will definately eat more than one!  Their oreo cheesecake and plain cheesecake is my favorite of their listed options.  Best thing there in my opinion is the pecan pie….that's 5 stars!! Parking can be a pain, but if you circle the block once or twice something is bound to open up.  Super friendly staff, cash only though so go prepared! Lovely local bakery in College Point, was a great find!

I came here for thanksgiving baked goods. I got there around 11am, and there was a line there! I waited about 20mins. I ordered two cheesecakes. They were delicious but there isn't a crust on the cheesecakes. I kind of enjoy the crust on cheesecakes.. Others seemed to enjoy it though. Not bad of a cheesecake at all.
