The lines get pretty long but it's kind of worth the wait. Friendly service and good coffee. The hot latte is pretty darn good. Next time I'll try the pastries…
I'm so surprised this location of La Colombe has so little reviews. It's actually my favorite location of La Colombe, for a variety of reasons. It's closer to my office than the Soho branch, it's huge – so you never have to worry about finding a spot to sit and do some work, and there's never a long line for coffee.
I'd say the coffee quality is the same as the other locations, but I think there is a bit more variety in snacks and noms. I highly recommend La Colombe if you're in the area and need a quick coffee fix. It's definitely better than the other places that I like to call the Coffee Wasteland that is the neighborhood around my office.
PROS:
+ Coffee is good and they make their own homemade almond milk.
+ The place is actually pretty relaxing because they don't have wifi. So people aren't all plugged up to devices and pounding keyboards. The joint is full of people looking each other int he eye and making real conversations. It's wonderful.
+ The shop is clean and simple and modern. It feels fresh inside.
CONS:
+ They don't have tea or juice or anything other than coffee and water. So when your out-of-town business guest comes in and you "go out for coffee" you better make sure that they drink coffee and that they weren't planning of grabbing a hot tea.
+ No wifi & I didn't see any outlets to charge devices.
This is the second location of La Colombe that I've been to, the other being the one near Chinatown. The drinks are just as good here, but there is a lot more seating. It's a much better place to stop and chat. They even have a restroom.
Excellent space for meeting and work. I needed a coffee shop to meet with a client and La Colombe Hudson exceeded my expectations. It's quiet, spacious and has adequate seating for solo sippers and group socials.
The atmosphere, ambiance and product are quality. I ordered hot cocoa and to my delightful surprise, it came with a feather decorated in the froth.
The people are kind and have a very graceful demeanor. It feels good to be here and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to get together and get work done.
Ok I love this place so much!
– The coffee drinks have all been amazing. Specifically they make the best Americanos and I definitely indulge in an almond latte now and then
– There's usually a barista who runs the register in the weekday mornings who is amazing. My first time there, I was carrying a yoga mat and she mentioned that she was in training to become a yoga teacher. Super quick chat but definitely appreciated a little friendly interaction on a cold Monday morning
– Though some would disagree, the lack of wifi is refreshing. It definitely impacts the environment. If you need it, there are at least three coffee shops in the vicinity with access to the interwebs.
Yes! So glad they have this location close to where I stay. Now I can have flavor-blasted crack coffee every morning!
Seriously, you can't go to Starbucks after drinking their coffee. It's so rich, smooth and CREAMY! I never have to add cream or sugar to my Americano here because they always make it right~ not bitter and burnt-tasting. I also recommend trying their lattes- creamy steamed milk + creamy espresso = unnaturally addicting. There aren't any menus but the baristas are so nice and knowledgeable, they can help you figure out what you want or make you whatever you come up with.
The interior is also very bright and spacious! Even when it's hard to find seating in the morning, you can still take your coffee to one of the large stand-up tables if not to-go. The lines can get long but they move very very fast.
If you plan on doing work here, there isn't any wifi. Kind of a bummer but you could always read a book or stare off into the distance.
This place has very good coffee. Apparently there are a handful of other locations, but I've never been to any of them. This one just opened recently and is a great addition to the neighborhood, where the only other option is really Starbucks (or Dunkin, if you go that way). It's a cavernous, minimalist space with a very open design and plenty of seating.
I paid $3.50 for what appears to be an 8oz iced coffee which, to me, is expensive. I watched them fill it about 3/4 full and place it on the counter in front of the barista. I was delighted when she topped it off with a shot of espresso. Quelle surprise! It was still a little less coffee than I usually like, but with the extra shot, I'm still buzzing nicely and the coffee was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.
