So I had a friend tell me to try this spot when I don't wanna make the trek from my good old faithful. For what it's worth it's pretty typical Hispanic food. Rice and beans & fried beef (that just sounds wrong..lol) were pretty good…the fried beef was a little dry but still pretty good when you eat it. The avocado salad was the winner…even though it's cut up avocado and lettuce… just made me happy to have a veggie amongst the fried meat…lol
I ordered delivery, aka be prepared to wait a bit. however, the restaurant called to make sure they had my order right.. which they did, but when it got to me my flan missing. I really wanted it too…lol
I'm usually not a fan of trying places again after not such a groovy experience…but I'll give them another shot.
I wanted to give a good review but welp, that's a dub. So let's get on with it. I came here twice; once a few months ago and today. The last time the woman at the front was okay, but the food was presented very sloppily. I ordered stew saltfish (well, they call it bacalo I believe but I'm Jamaican and Trinidadian and we call it saltfish) but I digress….today was a fail. I ordered mangu with eggs but the waitress insisted that I get meat I'm like no, I just want eggs. She had an attitude and then yelled after me for my food after she put it together begrudgingly. Then I asked for pepper and no one answered me because they were busy speaking spanish to each other. Finally a man helped me but he was rude. I needed that pepper for the mangu to taste better bc it honestly tasted bad. My friend and I agree that it was flavorless, lumpy, and tasted like they put no seasoning in it whatsoever. I should have just spent my money at Glorias or Vees up the block. If this is a reflection of Dominican food, no thanks buddy.
