I was with my family in the area and wanted to try this new restaurant. It used to be a Colombian restaurant before but with a different name and management. I'm so happy the management changed and the food. The place isn't huge but it has so much character and charm. We were seated and right away the waitress came with a smile on her face to see if we wanted something to drink. They don't serve liquor but they had tropical juices, Colombian sodas, snapple, coffee and water. As we were looking over the menu they brought us some complimentary mini beef empanadas which were crispy, fresh and full of flavor. Also, they bought the kids these cute Colombian jello. This beats bread any day. Since we were a large group (7 adults and 3 children) we ordered a lot of food which I was happy about since I got to taste a lot of items 🙂 The bandeja paisa was delicious. It came with pretty much everything you could want if you love meat as much as I do; chorizo, chicharron (fried pork belly), steak, fried egg, rice, beans, fried plantains and avocado. I was shocked this huge dish was only $11 since I was only able to eat half. The breaded fish fillet was also a large portion that came with rice and tostones. It was full of flavor and not greasy. The Sancocho was hearty and perfect for a rainy day like today (they only serve this on Saturdays) The Churrasco was really good as well, served with rice and French fries. Not sure if they had dessert since we finished our meal with coffee and some savory pastries which were so fresh I wanted more but didn't really have any more room. This is a perfect place to come in the morning for some coffee and pastries if you want a fast breakfast or for lunch/dinner but make sure you are hungry because the portions here are large. Next time I'm in the area I be sure to stop by since I love authentic Colombian food.
