  1. Legit quesadillas – I prefer it with chicken than pork as the chicken is juicier. This is my to-go spot when I want a quick dinner but doesn't want to wait for delivery because they make the food so quickly. Huge portions that will leave you full, and for a little over 7 bucks. I also like that they make them right in front of you. You can get 2 out of 5 sauces for free, there is also the option to add guac. Free chips and pico upon Yelp check-in.

  2. Stopped in here real quick to get a pulled pork burrito the other day. It was pretty darn tasty. It stood out to me because like a typical burrito it was spicy, but it also had plantains on it that made it sweet. The combo was excellent. They sell beer for $3 a can here which means I'm already looking forward to my next stop in.

  3. I came here with my buddy on a late night after some drinking. Their burritos were so on point. Service was very friendly and all their recommendations were super tasty. I highly recommend the plantanos in addition to your food! It adds a very nice and subtle sweetness to your burrito/taco.

  4. Surprisingly the best burrito I've had in NYC. I ordered the 'Meatless' burrito from here (with extra spicy salsa and no cheese) on a whim, expecting mediocre. As a California native, I am disappointed by east coast Mexican food on a pretty regular basis. My burrito was delicious-perfectly seasoned Mexican rice (which they prepare with vegetable stock), black beans, delicious sweet plantains, super spicy delicious pico. Perfect ratio of all ingredients, and everything tasted very fresh.
My only complain is that I paid $1.50 extra for a side of plantains and received 3 small slices of plantain (see photo). I found this to be pretty stingy, despite feeling that this meal was certainly worth the $10 total price.

  5. First of: this is very similar to Chipotle Mexican Grill and I say this in a good way!   The sauces they offer are super yummy (heat w/ sweet) not sure of the official name.

I ate a chicken bowl or naked burrito w/e. It was yummy, chicken was warm, rice was warm, etc.  The food here is good. At first I thought it was a sit down restaurant with waiter service, which would've been great since I came here with my gf since Sri Thai across the street was closed on Tuesdays 0_o.

The music was LOUD.. the black lady who took our order was nonchalant… no energy to her, just a dead soul who had to come to work today. However, she was not disrespectful but act like you want to be at work.  Put on a smile and greet your customers.  She did let me redeem my Yelp check in bonus which was awesome. However the chips were missing something … not sure what.  Get the chips right and it will be a complete winner.

The doors were all open, a fan was on blasting a table which would've had my gf hair flying all over her face and food so we had to move a table over where flies were just being pests and buzzing all around us(because doors were all open and temps were almost on the too warm side.)

I won't be back .. ONLY because I'm not from the neighborhood BUT if I was I'd get takeout here on the regular. So if you're a local, get takeout here … If you don't live near I wouldn't recommend you travel for the food here, you can get this food anywhere.  But surely, not the sauce. They should bottle it up and sell it honestly lol.

This spot could get very popular and people will travel to it if they offer, waiter service(not necessary BUT a plus), keep doors closed, adjust the temperature inside to cool, dim the lighting, add few candles and keep serving great food + happy/energetic/smiling employees.  As small as it is inside, it still would work.  Intimate dining. OH AND I LOVE THE INTERIOR, Mexican touches here and there.  I can tell the owner is passionate… seek out just as passionate employees.

  6. I was in the area to get Thai food, but the place was closed and so low and behold: LA GRINGA TAQUERIA!

I got two tacos – both with blue corn tortillas – one chicken and one carnitas.  The combination of juicy meat, plantains and delicious, delicious sauces (try the chipotle) was soooo good.  I've had a lot of tacos in my life and these did not disappoint.  Great quality, decent price, and very tasty.

  7. Really yummy burritos and quite fast. We didn't have much time before a concert but wanted to grab a bite and we were in and out in less than 30 min.

I got the naked meatless burrito which is basically a burrito bowl. Added guac and crema (which is sour cream) and tomatillo sauce. Yum. Price was ok. Similar to Chipotle but I'm guessing it's a local business so yay for supporting local businesses. I thought the meatless burrito should've included guac but it's an additional charge.

If you can't handle heat, stay away from the picante sauce. My friend got it on her taco and had to go running for water. The lady at the counter gave her guac and she said it helped cool her tongue… We both thought the picante was the green sauce but that's actually the tomatillo one. Lesson learned!

  8. Taco-Riffic

I stumbled into this tiny taco joint in Williamsburg and they tantalized my taste buds. I didn't expect much but got a lot of flavor from my order of 2 grilled fish tacos for $7.50. The well seasoned flavorful fish was delicate and was a decently portioned. The taco artist constructed my taco ever so gingerly with attention to detail. The staff were also friendly and inviting which may have made my meal taste even better. The pico de gallo was refreshing but the best thing about the tacos was the chipotle sauce they were topped with. The chipotle sauce had a pleasant amount of heat and really took the lightly seasoned fish to another level.
