  1. This place is the ish! I waited a while before yelping about this place. But tonight, it deserved it.

We ordered large plates (to go) of:
    Oxtail stew with white rice
Baked chicken with arroz con gandules
    Pernil with arroz con gandules
    Three Arizona iced teas

    Grand total *drumroll please* $23!

The portions were huge and delicious. We also grab a slice of tres leches cake from here sometimes. Delicious, too. Too bad they don't deliver!

  2. I like to skate, no matter how cold it is and ended up going from The Heights to West Side Ave (3 miles) in search of a random spot I've never been to or that no one has probably walked into evvvaaaaarrrrrr.

I'll eat anywhere…a food cart in the middle of the desert where there's no way they have water or electricity…or the most upscale "reservation" only waterfront spot where you eat with forks made of platinum and the napkins are disposable despite being weaved by hand with golden threads.

This was like in the middle of those two.

I ordered a Cuban sandwich. It was $4.50. Or, as the Spanish call it…a "Cubano" sandwich. Take notes folks. Take. Notes.

It wasn't the fanciest thing I've ever seen, but it was what I ordered…ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese and pickles on Cuban bread. A Cuban sandwich.

    A very long, Cuban sandwich.

I could have used it as a baseball bat.

Now, after I bit into the first piece of pork, I immediately thought it was too roasted. Like, a little tough to chew. But it was just the ends of the strips of pork, the rest of the pork was perfect.

All in all, the sandwich was good…if you're in the area and want some Spanish food, I would give here a shot if you're not trying to go to Newport, Downtown or Hoboken.

I will be back to try the empanadas.

Or as they say in Spanish…"Empanada".

  3. Good Authentic Spanish food spot! So tasty, reminded me of my Bronx days. Once I found this place I literally ate it 3 days in a row lol

  4. This place is your traditional Dominican/Hispanic place. The food is always fresh, good and cheaply priced. The service is good as well. Some of my favorite meals is the beef stew or chicken stew and the rice and black beans. It must be hard to find anything bad here.
