  1. This is a review on take out.

Wickedly disappointed in what I would hope would be a more authentic burrito than say Chipotle. While the flavor was great, I wish there was more of it. It was a slim burrito with hardly any goods. The fresh avocado was a plus, but I wish there were beans and other goodies to fill it up.

What really upset me was how poorly wrapped it was. It immediately fell apart. It also wasn't wrapped in tin foil which could have helped the cause.

Plus no chips with take out? She said it was an extra cost…

  2. I was so pissed the last time I came here that I only gave it 2 stars because of service but the food is always outstanding! By far the most authentic Mexican I've had in this area and even a bunch in NYC. I eat A LOT of Mexican so I'm well aware of what that constitutes. Fantastic food like this should draw you in like crack and that's what this place does.

I've had a hankering for the Chilaquiles Rojo (which they don't serve in most places) and Tacos Al Pastor so I fed the beast.

The site is no longer up and I can't find any menus so I posted the entire menu they gave me today. Since the last time I was here, they put the tap water prices on the menu as Agua Fresca but they still make no mention of charging to open liquor bottles or a charge for giving you the glass to pour it in. This aside, I will continue to patronize and feed my addiction.

  3. Wow I can't believe I found authentic Mexican food in the middle of englewood. The tortillas that came with my meal were amazing. The meat was so flavorful definitely some sazon but it did not overpower the dish.

They deliver to the englewood area for a min $15 order. I'm already perusing the menu thinking of my next take out order.

  4. I want to really like this place. I really do.
But as I go more and more, I like it less and less.

    – Their place is spacious and great for big groups, but their place is also really old and gross.
    – They are BYOB, but they also charge a $2 per person corkage/alcohol fee.
    – Their menu has a ton of variety, but their menu has too much variety. Pretty sure they have over 200 items on their menu.
    – They give you free nachos with salsa but after the first bowl, they start charging.
    – Their tacos are cheap but the meat never seems fresh.

The one superstar of this restaurant is their sandwiches. They are fantastic. The bread they use is so soft and the sandwiches have so many different components to them.

Overall, I'm never thrilled about going to this place, but I'm never unsatisfied either.
I think it's worth going to once with a group of friends. So I'll probably continue to come here when me and my friends are craving tacos until someone recommends a better sit-down mexican place.

  5. This place was such a good find! I go to a monthly scuba meeting in the area, but this time around I ended up being super early and hungry. I Yelped a place close by and ended up placing a takeout order from here.

I called from the car when I was 8 minutes away and the lady on the phone said it would take 10 minutes! So happy. It was close to 7 pm so I was afraid of a dinner rush. I parked on the street right on the corner with my flashers on. Everything was ready for pick-up. I grabbed one of those mandarin orange sodas and was on my way.

I got a steak flour quesadilla, which I was told was more popular than their other version. It comes with guacamole and sour cream. They put the lettuce, onion, and tomato on the side, which is nice. I didn't realize that there were 2 sauces that came with it until the next day when I ate the second half as leftovers. There was a green one and a red-ish brown one. I liked the green best. Both had a spicy kick to them. I wasn't really a fan of the latter though. I wonder what kind of sour cream they use, it was tastier than most.

I wish I lived closer so I could try other things on the menu. Maybe this will be a monthly pitstop of mine 🙂
