  1. This is an adorable little wine store but I must emphasize little as it is tiny tiny!  I came in to possibly buy a northern California wine, but the selection was not that large and they did not have what I was looking for. That being said the owner was super nice and clearly is very knowledgeable about wines …  Prices run the gamut from 8 dollars to 200, from what I saw on the shelves.
They also have a doorman which is interesting

  2. Been a loyal customer for years. Larry is the man. He is really on top of his wine and spirtis game, and it shows. Great prices and the selections are always changing. Ask him literally anything about any bottle he sells in his store and the guys like an encyclopedia. What to pair with the dinner you're making tonight? To bring to a house warming party? For day drinking on your roof? What will I feel like tomorrow after drinking the whole bottle myself tonight? Ask Larry.

  3. This wine shop is a joy to go in. I rarely feel good about parting with money – even in exchange for alcohol, but this was a truly lovely experience. I was buying a present for some friends who had put me up for a couple of weeks, and I wanted to treat them to some good wine. They know more about wine than I do, so I thought that this would be a tricky mission.

In fact it was extremely easy. I walked in, described their taste, mentioned my budget and voila, I had 12 different  bottles of very decent wine – one or two a little unusual and cheeky, and all for less than the budget I had set. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience – at no time did I feel like I was being dense or that I wasn't quite good enough for the 'club'. The owner was charming, engaging and just so very knowledgeable.

My friends loved the selection – every single bottle of it, and I got all the kudos for my brilliant taste in wine. I just hope they aren't reading this!

  4. I stumbled upon this place by happen stance. Needed wine for a dinner "in" and this is across from his building. I'm somewhat knowledgeable about wine and really was looking for some names I know under a certain dollar amount. I was super surprised to see my favorite Pinot Noir – Castle Rock there! I've searched up and down the East Coast to no avail. I told the cashier how pleased I was.

He tells me how very few merchants have it…we begin to chat. This is Larry – the owner. Super friendly.  I explain my friend is new to the neighborhood but we would definitely be back. He was kind enough to ask if we have a bottle opener – which of course we realized might be hiding somewhere – and he kindly opened them for us.

I saw Larry again today. Extremely knowledgeable. Very friendly. This small shop carries a large selection.

I almost forgot to mention – price points are lower than elsewhere I've been in Manhattan. Cherry on the top or what?!?!

  5. Cute little liquor store in fidi. Good prices.
The owner is great, they don't chase you around and pressure you into buying things. When you ask questions, the owner will give you a great answer. He knows a lot!
    Definitely coming back!

  6. Great wine shop in the Finical District, great selection and super knowledgeable staff. The first place where I was introduced to lambrusco…Really…I know.

  7. My favorite place to get a bottle of wine.. And I live seconds away from here..

The owner is very knowledgeable about wine.. just describe what kind of texture, acidity, flavor, level of alcoholic and they will recommend you a bottle of wine.. oh. and choose red or white..

In the summer.. I love something citrusy.. so they recommend me some white wine (forgot the name).. their best seller prosecco is my favorite sparking wine..

Their price is absolutely reasonable (actually cheap) and great.. Sometimes I just love to walk in and buy a bottle of wine to put in my fridge.. or just a collection of wine..

If you have absolutely no clue about wine.. just come in here.. and I can guarantee you will purchase a perfect wine..
