  1. I was unimpressed by Lan Larb Soho.

We came to dine here on a Saturday night, and someone in our group is severely allergic to shellfish. He ordered the tom yum soup, but when the dish arrived and he tried it, he felt something was off. He asked the waiter repeatedly if the soup has any shellfish, and the waiter denied it. My friend asked if he could order something else, but the waiter did not budge in returning the soup. So, we paid for the soup at the end. It bothers me that the waiter did not take his dish, and it bothers me that the waiter was not careful when helping my friend order food.

The restaurant is small, and the ambiance feels more like a fast food chain than a nice sit-down restaurant. The food was fine, but nothing that makes me want to come back. Also, don't come here if you're on a diet. The dishes are tend to be oily or doused in sauce.

  2. Decent thai food in a quiet area. We went mostly for the larb- catfish variety- which we actually found very dry. We added extra lime which helped but wouldn't get again. The chicken pad kee mao was tasty and a large portion.
The restaurant only had 2 occupied tables and no to go orders went out while I waited for my to go order which still somehow took 15-20 mins.
I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again but for delivery / middle of the road Thai this was a-ok for me.

  3. I'm typically a pretty boring pad thai, green curry, or eggplant and chili type of girl but at Lan Larb my favorite thing to get is the khao man gai, which is a flavorful poached chicken served over equally flavorful rice. If you're a fan of Hainanese chicken rice you might enjoy it too. If you're grossed out by chicken skin you may not enjoy it as much, but I personally love it and think it's the most flavorful part of the whole dish! At just $10, it's a delicious and filling meal and even comes with a little tiny hot soup on the side. They have a lunch special which includes soup, an app, and an entree for $9 and they offer it on the weekends too – a great deal! It's an affordable, low-key place to stop in or call for pickup or delivery, and they'll always have a special place in my heart thanks to their khao man gai!

  4. I was in the area last week and stopped at Lan Larb. I ordered the lunch special which included an appetizer or soda and an entree.

I had the Larb Gai for my appetizer. The chicken was good and spicy.

For the main event I got the kra prow. The sauce was great (if not super spicy!) and the pork was well cooked. I love their rice too.

Lan Larb is excellent. I'll be returning!

  5. Decent Thai food. Nothing too remarkable. Had this for lunch and the lunch deal is pretty nice – you can get an entree and an appetizer and side. I got the fried rice with soup and edamame. Food tastes like your typical go-to, slightly-greasy, late-night Thai food.

  6. First time here, searched for Thai on Yelp within walking distance. What a great find!

Friend and I each had an over rice entree and Thai iced tea. I had chicken, she had pork, everything was so delicious!

  7. This place isn't the worst place to get pad Thai or whatever but it definitely a place I won't be coming back

I came for their lunch special (daily 11:30-3:30) it's a sweet deal for 9 bucks for pad Thai and a small larb.  I have a feelin the lunch portion is smaller but whatever, it's a good size for me.

I got my larb gai (chicken) almost immediately, which leads me to wonder how long it has been sitting in the kitchen or what not.  It was kinda of a sad presentation, just  a few lettuce with a pile of chicken larb looked like cat food to  me.  It was cold and slimy and the instant I had it, my mouth was blasted with salt.  It wasn't bad but it was too salty.

The pad Thai came not too long after.  Visually it looked good, and my first few bite, I was like hey, this isn't bad at all.  It was piping hot which is always a good thing.  But after the hunger subsided, I realize that while the flavors are there, something that makes pad thai really good is missing.  Maybe it was too slippery, too much sauce.  Maybe it was the flavorless chicken.  Maybe it was something that they put in.  It was something and I was getting kinda grossed out continuing eating it.  Halfway through, I didn't wanna eat anymore.

I looked for the servers, maybe some spices will help, I was trying to get some chili or something and they were standing there just chit chatting and leaving.   Not once did they come over.  I was over it by then.

I didn't even bother to finish my meal (I was full though), paid and left.

Sorry, but Joya is way worth the trip out to BK for
    me than this place

  8. Their lunch specials are great, whether you get delivery or dine in. Fast, good food, i cannot say no to. The pork larb is good, as are the pad thai (huge portions!), drunken noodle (pad see ew), and panang curry. They're quick to get you water, take your order, get your food, and then the check. I like overall speediness of the place – makes it good for a quick lunch during workdays.
