So I was in SoHo today with my boyfriend & we were really hungry, we walked around to look for a place to grab a bite. We saw this cafe & decided to go in. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile & a good morning. The lady waitress was so kind. We sat down & I ordered a grilled chicken Greek salad. My boyfriend got the Philly cheese steak combo with fries. The food came in less then 10 minutes & tasted so good! My salad was heaven. So fresh and I loved that I got to put my own dressing in it. The coffee was delicious too. My boyfriend loved his food as well. We found a great place for breakfast in SoHo. The prices are not bad at all either. They have a lot of choices to pick from & breakfast combos in the morning until 11am. Next time I'm in SoHo early in the morning or for lunch I will def. stop by here again.
I love this place not so much because of the food, but because the waitresses are so awesome. They are so freaking hardworking. And, as a result, they get food on your table fast. Speaking about fast, the cook must have four arms. I have watched him in awe at how focused he is. Anyway, enough about the staff. The food is good, classic diner stuff. Good enough for most people unless you're drunk and walk in expecting fine cuisine.
This is a diner with tons of tourists. Which is no surprise considering the area. Anyway, I recommend the omeletts 'cause they make them good here. Even better are the pancakes. Actually, yeah, definitely the pancakes.
This diner gives you exactly what you want and nothing more: great straightforward meals at decent prices, refills on coffee, chairs upholstered in plastic, and pictures of the food on the menu. Don't bother venturing too far beyond your two egg breakfast, pancakes, or BLT… you're here for the classics.
Even though it's pretty dead during the week, you can expect to wait a bit for a chair on weekend mornings as it's one of the only diners like this in the area. Luckily the lady running the show is always on top of her shizz and will get people in and out with a quickness.
Long live the greasy spoon!
Pretty good food for a decent price. It's also the only dinner that you would find nearby in chinatown. Service is extra extra friendly. I pass by this place before work every morning and i have always been greeted with a smile. It's actually so infectious it makes your crummy days better. They have eggs, burgers, chicken, gyro, anything u can find in a diner.
If you're looking for decent-priced, casual diner food and atmosphere on the border of SoHo, this is the place for you. It's a quaint diner, narrow but enough seating. Food is what you expect from a diner. Good for a quiet, calm breakfast and catching up with friends. Nice break away from Chinatown and away from the hectic shopping crowds in SoHo.
A classic New York diner/luncheonette.
Come for the breakfast specials or lunch specials. Like a classic diner should be, the decor is circa 1970's and their menu is extensive and a never ending possibility of combinations. We all know diner food is slow and subpar, but hey that's diner life for you, and you go for the cheap and decent portions, not the ambience!
First time I came, I was went with my sister. We both wanted the Greek platters because that's just how we roll. I got the falafel platter which came with pita bread, greek salad, fries and falafel, and my sister got the chicken souvlaki platter which had the same. Portions are huge, which is standard for diner food. We could not finish everything! For the price, it was a decent meal and a good deal, but nothing special.
Food is refrigerated and cooked when ordered, which is why diners can have such an extensive menu–nothing is really fresh. Maybe the fresh vegetables are in fear they are quickly perishable.
No major complaints except slow service and average food. Do not order drinks, avoid the iced tea and lemonades at all costs. Coffee is decent though. And the open window space gives no privacy at all, as most the tables are lined up next to the windows. It is however, great for people watching–watch and be watched.
The bathrooms downstairs are very dingy.
If you can, hold it and use any other bathroom two blocks down at any store in Soho.
Still, I go back when I crave diner food.
For quick service, solidly good food and great (the best, actually) prices in SoHo/NoLIta…look no further than Landmark.
This is your classic diner in New York City…but without any touristy flair. It's right out of the 70's/80's and hopefully will stay that way for many years to come.
I can't recommend the French Toast enough (with 2 eggs over easy, bacon and coffee)! It'll get your day going just right…or provide a welcome rest from any shopping or neighborhood errands that need to be run.
Check out their odd hours before hitting them up. I've been by often and found them closed.
I stopped by here for a quick lunch while I was in Chinatown. The food is solid, the service is fast and the price is cheap.
I ordered the grilled ham and cheese with fries. They had the good diner fries (the big fat ones) and the grilled cheese was a good size. With a soda all total I think I spent $13 and less than 20 minutes getting lunch.
Worth it. I'll be back.
